Re: 34th Overall Pick
[quote=budw38;1068279]CBS Sports says Colt Lyerla is "clearly a 1st round talent." With our need at TE, he'd be a good risk after the 5th. Him and Reed at TE would be an unstoppable force, providing, of course, he stayed out of trouble. Because he does have issues off the field.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
Brandon Thomas G Clemson is my late round risk pick. He had an ACL tear during a pre-draft workout.... probably a 2nd or 3rd prior to the injury

Re: 34th Overall Pick
It's better to go RT with the 34th pick.....the positive thing about this draft is that we pick near the top of every round.....we should get great value with our picks....

Re: 34th Overall Pick
Watching NFL Network yesterday Bucky Brooks talked about SKINS drafting Joel Bitonio now alot of drafts are saying we are taking him or would be a good choice.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
Guys
We are not going RT for our first pick. Please stop that insanity.

Now, I could see dropping back 6-8 spots, for the right offer, and picking an RT around 40-42, but certainly RT, ILB and Safety will be spots of interest. |

Best to trade back and either stockpile future picks or late 2nd - 4th round OL / ILB prospects.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
Unless there's an absolute stud of a RT available I don't see us going that way in the 2nd round either.
The fan's view of Polumbus vs. what the coaches think of him differs greatly. |

Also Gruden's RT at Cinci was a former 1st round pick. So I can't see him being content with Polumbus |

Re: 34th Overall Pick
What position they target all depends on who's available at that position and who's available at other positions. Like if Verrett was still available, it doesn't matter who else is available because he's got top 10 talent. There's also a possibility that a safety may be overlooked in the first round. Like my man Bucannon that some analysts have liked and are saying is a first round talent. I haven't seen many OTs that analysts have been saying that about that are projected to be available at pick 34.

Re: 34th Overall Pick
... Just seems like there are some sure fire first round talent OTs that will be picked in the first round. Then there's a drop off in talent level. The next group of OTs seem to project at the 3rd round at best because of different reasons and risks. So I think that any OT picked in the 2nd round will be a reach.
But there's also another dilemma with the Redskins' high 3rd rounder- there still may be players available at other positions- probably even at pos of need- that grade out with 2nd round talent. What do you do then? |

Re: 34th Overall Pick
... I guess it depends on how much and how strongly you believe it will upgrade the RT position over Montgomery. Versus the feeling and grade you have with a player at another position.
This is probably why they say you need to stay true to your board- to make sure that you're basing your decision based on a well thought-out plan. |
