I'll probably just burn my TV. That's pretty much my worst nightmare.

I've never been a bigger Patriots fan than I am this weekend and this weekend only.

Re: Scot McCloughan to be new Redskins GM

We have to understand that while it seemed as if it took no time for McCloughan to revamp the Seahawks, do remember that their first year back into the playoffs, they still had a losing record. If not for a crappy division, they would not have seemed so improved. While it seemed as if the Seahawks became good overnight, there was a since of slow and steady, and there was some major changes in roster during the progress.

I'm saying that to say that it's going to take McCloughan a while to bring in the right guys. He may still need to bring in the right head coach. This is a situation where progress is going to have to be shown in other ways rather than the record in the beginning, because I don't see this being a quick turnaround - but I do see McCloughan turning this team around as long as he is given a chance. But us fans need to be patient with him. He may make some moves that we're not necessarily "fans" of, but in the end, winds up being the best move for the franchise. It's going to be an interesting next four years guys. I definitely feel we have something to look forward to!

Things can be headed in the right direction in 2-3 years I think. Over 5 years is an eternity in this league.

I'm pretty sure McCloughan knows what's up, and the task ahead of him. I don't care what they call it the proof will be in how we approach each offseason for the next 4 years. He's going to build through the draft and free agency should be much different too.

Re: Scot McCloughan to be new Redskins GM

For those who are on the fence or who choose to believe McCloughan will just be another bad hire by Snyder, you need to realize how well respected McCloughan is around the NFL. He's been doing this for over 20 years now, and he's still young (43 years old.) Just don't believe every little thing you hear from fans on the internet in terms of this guy. Read the ESPN article on him, that will give you a little incite.

Just also keep in mind that every General Manager, no matter how good or bad, is going to miss on guys. McCloughan has been called a savant of sorts when it comes to scouting, but he'll even admit that he misses on more than he gets right. But the players he gets right usually wind up doing better than all other drafted players of the league - especially as they progress throughout their careers. So, don't expect him to hit a winner on every pick, but do expect him to hit on more than our front office has in the past 15 years.

I think this is real change. I think this is legit. I know we have been fooled before, but this is exactly what we have asked for.

The "punishment" by the league : "It's like getting a ticket for going too fast on a road a week ago and they changed the speed limit today"

I've never seen a recovering alcoholic with the "one beer is ok" mentality be successful.

Who knows how long he will last.

It's possible he's not an alcoholic.

There are differences between true alcoholics and those that abuse alcohol. I'm not going to get too deep into it but I have a good friend who's a counselor that could explain it a lot better than I can.

This touches on what I'm talking about.

Can alcoholics return to social drinking?

Alot of people probably considered me an alcoholic when I was going through my divorce. Divorce can bring out the best in people.

P.S. I'm a casual drinker now, and I'm doing just fine now. 🍸🍻🍷

I used to love those green grenades. Back in the 80's when I was drinking Mickey's, that was considered the good stuff! Couldn't drink it now if you paid me to.

Re: Scot McCloughan to be new Redskins GM

From Tandler:

"In looking around to read as much as I can on Scot McCloughan there is one point that comes up frequently—he like big guys. 'I’ll never lose sight of this and maybe I’m a dinosaur in this, but it’s a big man’s game,' he said at the 2010 NFL Combine when he was the GM of the 49ers."

Now, that is just what I hoped to hear about him! Hogs - Part II. Huge NT. Huge linemen everywhere. Huge, tough, fast linemen. Linemen dominating the LOS on both sides of the ball. That is what will get us to where we want to be.
