I'd trade anyone on the skins for CAM

Re: Mad props to Cam Newton

Can't pat the kid on the back this week. This second half of the season hasn't been that good on Cam.

Carolina Panthers vs. Detroit Lions - Box Score - November 20, 2011 - ESPN

4 Ints with a 57% completion percentage and a 50.2 QB rating.

Also, I want to comment about some of the play calling for the Panthers. Why in the **** did they sign DeAngelo Williams to that huge contract only to NOT run the ball? Cam has almost as many rushing attempts/yards then their top back. Ron Rivera won't be there long, and neither will Cam if he continues to keep running.

Also, want to comment on this pass to Steve Smith.

NFL Videos: Steve Smith TD rec

THAT is a NFL QB arm.

Re: Mad props to Cam Newton

^^ I agree. Yes they lost and Cam pulled a rookie move with the INT's. But the TD throw to S. Smith between two DB's was impressive.

Cam is a rookie that judging by the play calling (38 pass attempts) is being asked to win games, not just manage the game and play not to lose.
The other two rookies C. Ponder (3 ints & 59.0 Qb rating) and A. Dalton (3 int's & 60.7 Qb rating) also had rough outings yesterday. So Cam is playing about where the other rookie Qb's are playing.

I would guess that system of theirs is just a copy of San Diego's system.

Nc skins secretly loves cam IMO :/)

Yeah rough last 2 games but I'd still take him over 26 QBs in the league today

I was referring to his health when I said he won't be for long. He keeps running as much as he does, he's going to pay the price much like Vick does.

I doubt it since Norv was running the San Diego offense. Besides, the reason the Chargers are throwing so much is because they can't run the ball and they fall behind early. Normally it's a balanced mix, and probably more run than pass when LT was there. (seemed that way anyway)

Both Rivera and Chudzinski could have taken whatever info they wanted about Norv's offense when they were in San Diego. Not only that, I think the specifically said that they're implementing that offense. STATE OF THE PANTHERS (Part 2): Panthers will pattern offense after Chargers

Philip Rivers or Cam Newton rest of career, who do you take? Keep in mind that Rivers is eight years older.

If that's the case, I don't recall Rivers running that much. :cheeky-sm

Also, why sign DeAngelo Williams for that type of scratch if you are going to pass 40 times a game? Let him walk and roll with Stewart.

Of course they added a little read option spice. Why not use your weapon to its fullest potential?

I also distinctly remember the color commentator from our game this season saying that Ron Rivera showed Steve Smith tapes from San Diego's offense and asked him "Do you want to be a part of this?"

Not sure about Williams though. Maybe they thought he could keep up his production.

Re: Mad props to Cam Newton

Talk about a big time QB..

Newton sets record as Panthers top Bucs – USATODAY.com

Yes I've been on Cam all season but he continues to leave NO DOUBT.. He's a superstar in the making.

"It does mean something to me. I'm not going to sit up here and say it doesn't mean something," Newton said of the record. "I'm not focusing on individualism in this game. It's still 11-on-11. I don't think I could've done anything without those other 10 guys, most importantly the five guys who are blocking their tails off each and every snap."

Re: Mad props to Cam Newton

This Sunday Cam Newton scored his 13th rushing touchdown of his rookie season breaking an all time NFL record. Breaking a record that was set in 1976 by Steve Grogan, of all people.
