Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
Remember how Eddy Curry and Antoine Walker were held at gunpoint and robbed in their home? Taylor is obviously no stranger to guns, and his father is a police cheif in Florida City, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Sean had a gun in the house. Maybe he confronted whoever broke in and was shot in the process. This is TOTAL speculation of course, but how would the Eddy Curry/Antoine Walker situations have turned out if either of those players confronted their prowlers with a weapon?

No, only if the loss of blood to his leg was long enough. Not sure what they call this maybe gangreen (speeling) sets in they could have to amputate his leg but that could take several days to tell if that would or could be the case. They had a doc on the radio about this injury.

Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
Let's all just picture this.
Our boy is gonna get through this. He is going to hit this thing as hard as he hits alligator arm WRs and blow it the f*ck out of the water. And then next season he will come back and lead us. He will annihalate opposing players and blow Cowboys up like toy soldiers. That's how I am going to look at it. I can't for the guy to come back full strength. I am not going to dwell on the potential negatives. Let's think positive. |

Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
Im still in shock that the call to the police went out at 1:45 and the police didnt get there until 2:00. That means he was bleeding out for 15 minutes at least until a turniqit was thrown on to stop the bleeding... of course the times may not be accurate, but ive seen guys bleed out in minutes when hit in the femoral.

Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
Amputation is generally predicated on the extent of the blunt trauma to the femoral artery, the amount of vascular reconstruction needed, whether associated vessels were injured, and whether his tibia was fractured by the bullet. If his injury incorporates many (or all) of these variables--then the rate of amputation increases.

Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
Basically everyone is talking about how much Sean has matured over the past few years, how he is a different person from '05, how he has changed since starting a family. James Thrash is talking right now, you can get the live stream from Redskins.com.
Thrash: We're praying for his family; the Skins have organized a prayer meeting and have prayed; during team meeting pastor came in and team prayed.

Re: Sean Taylor Shot in the Thigh: CNN News
And now Collin Cowturd on ESPN is spinning the negative on ST. He said he "spent 60 seconds Googling Sean Taylor" and he pulled up all of his troubled past, blah, blah, blah. He thinks this was not a "random" incident. I understand the curiosity of the media and regular peeps as well to question this crime, but to dwell on the negative reminds me of the Don Henley tune "Dirty Laundry." I just wish everyone would wait for the facts before speculating and making assumptions. We will know the facts when they are discovered.

I was the first officer on two scenes in the last year where the victims were shot in the legs. One guy was shot through the thigh and calf with a 9mm handgun, the other was shot through the thigh with a .22 rifle. Both were evacuated by ambulance, not helicopter. In fact, with the first one (the one shot with the 9mm), myself, the victim and another officer had to remain behind the cover of a pickup truck given that the shooter was supposedly in a building directly across from us. We were eventually evacuated by the SWAT team about 30-45 minutes after my arrival. As far as I know both victims made it fine. The one shot with the 9mm was lucid and talkative the entire time I was with him. I guess it all depends on where the shots landed and, specifically, with what weapon he was shot. Makes me think this was a particularly bad circumstance since he was taken out via helicopter.
