Re: Around the NFL Week 12
I really hope next year the NFL does something about all these shitty calls. Total legal hit on Nicks and probbaly the worst roughing the passer call I think I've ever seen on Manning a bit earlier. The league is just becoming way too soft. We see it every week. Crappy calls that are game changing.

I think he's going to need to play much better to get the Lions over the hump into the playoffs. I think he's capable enough -- and at this point, the Redskins would take anyone capable, but I think the history of Matt Stafford would suggest he's going to struggle to win enough games down the stretch to get the Lions into the playoffs. Stafford is still incredibly young, but I don't think he's progressed to the point where he will be an elite quarterback soon. Down the road? Sure. I wouldn't bet against him or the Lions. I just don't know if I'd bet on him either. Stafford's completion percentage has actually gone up since the finger injury, which is both a good sign for the Lions, and a reason to believe that his wildness has nothing to do with injury: that's just how Matt Stafford has been since college.

Re: Around the NFL Week 12
Stafford benefits from one of the best WRs in the game.

Lol, Peeli has completed 16 consecutive completions. Ah, prevent defense.

I think he plays for a real A+ organization and has an A+ scoring machine (or two) on his own team. And I think those are assets that not quarterbacks ever get in this league. Some quarterbacks get Vinny Cerrato and Devin Thomas. I would not put a ceiling on any 23 year old QB. Not Stafford, not McCoy, not Sanchez, not Newton, and not Dalton. Tom Brady was a pretty crappy QB at age 23.

Re: Around the NFL Week 12
Drew Brees' performance tonight is a first for any NFL QB.
