Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

The way I look at a trading the farm for a QB like Luck is this. Could you trade the players you would have drafted with those picks for Luck. So for example we tried to trade two first round picks for Jay Cutler back in 09 which turned into Orakpo and Williams. Would Chicago accept a trade today if we were to offer them Orakpo and Williams. Of course it's not the best system considering that teams have certain positions that are set and system issues but the general point remains the same.

Anyway I think we should all look very closely at Leinart these next few games. He has no Andre Johnson and a good defense. Somewhat similar situation to what he would have here.

I'm also curious to see if anyone has an idea of how Flynn would fit into our system.

The Texans are on bye and should have Andre Johnson when they play in two weeks.

Based on what? This has got to be the most overrated QB I've seen in the past couple seasons. Too even think he could just step in and deliver success is all based on such a small sample size. Rex Grossman looked like an all star until week 3.

This season has to end with us drafting a guy. I don't care if he turns out to be the worst quarterback ever, we have to take the risk that successful teams have already taken. Whether it be Barkley, Jones, RG3, Tannehill, etc.

Worst case scenario we go the free agent route and draft Blackmon or Jeffrey depending on where we finish. After that, let's go all out on corners and o-line. Landry walks to get some ridiculous contract and probably becomes a pro bowler, but unfortunately it doesn't matter because he isn't working here.

Well we still need a capable back up. However, given how rookies have been successful, I would want our rook QB to start right away. The problem is, will Kyle Shanahan be willing to put our rook QB in a situation where he is not being asked to put the team on his shoulders? I would say that for at least the first couple of games, you want to ease the rookie QB in. However, given how pass-happy KS wants us to be, I don't know how this would work out.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

I think we could get away with reciever in the first round and quarter back early second. All depends on who comes out and teams deciding they need to draft a qb. Teams who need a qb of the top of my head:
Cleveland
Miami
Washington
anyone else?

You know Matt Schuab's most impressive regular season game before going to Houston was against the Patriots where he threw 3 TD's and 298 yards. Matt Flynn also threw 3 TD's against the Patriots. They both also share the name Matt. They both backed up pro bowlers. If this isn't fate I don't know what is.

Not only is that logic crazy, but Matt Schaub isn't exactly the guy I'd want leading my team into the playoffs. We have a chance at drafting someone with a much higher ceiling.

No..Hell no. If we go WR in the first round I will slap Shanny myself during the draft presser.

Depends on if Indy holds onto Manning another year and seeing how Painter can't lead the Colts out of a paper bag, they might wanna invest in a QB of some sort.

Re: Build the Redskins for 2012

Just in case Barkley, L. Jones, Luck, and Griffin III all decide to stay in college for the senior years, the Redskins need to keep a watchful eye on potential trades to land a QB. If not that, then they should be in the know of which QBs will be free agents come early march.

Are there any actual senior QBs that are worth of a 1st round selection?
