Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2020
Jason Reed was the favorite of former Redskins coach Jon Gruden. The Kurt Cousins to Jason Reed connection was deadly in 2015.

Original post updated to reflect the release of TE Jordan Reed. Thank you Jordan! You were fun to watch when you were healthy and on top of your game.

Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2020
I was writing so fast I was thinking Jordan but writing Jason. I should speech write for Bruce Allen!! lol
Anyway, JORDAN Reed is gone. I really liked him, but he could never stay healthy. I guess it doesn't surprise me that Bruce would bet the entire team's success last year on Reed, even with all his injuries. BA was always counting on guys who couldn't finish a season. I was really hoping Jordan could come back last year. I was a little surprised that he played in the Pre-Season and that hit was just a cheap shot.

Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2020
Original post updated to reflect some accounting cleaned up. Tress Way's extension actually doesn't affect his 2020 cap number at all, the extension goes into effect in 2021. Some other true ups completed to stay in sync with Over The Cap, who deserves tremendous credit for staying on top of the cap situations of every team in the NFL.

Would have been a hof’er if he stayed healthy. His offensive production was on course to break all sorts of TE records. Real shame. Hope he stays healthy in his retirement. |

Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2020
Yeah holmes if you just read the OP it says we have $61M in space now, and we could tag Scherff and sign Flowers and still have $40M left. We should do some damage in free agency.

Started scrolling back didn’t see the numbers, but even if i had im not sure how much is alot. Remember you are dealing with some people who do not work well with numbers. We need help. Lol. Who the fuck would have thought flowers would be a priority but as a Cane Alumn and Skins fan hell yeah. So 40 mill sounds like enough to address some serious needs. |

I know we have to pick up at least 1 veteran TE with the emphasis Scott Turner puts on them, but I'm passing on anybody looking for a payday.

I'm not against either strategy if done properly. I'm gonna give Smith and Rivera the benefit of the doubt with the strategy this off season, including FA and draft. I do want Hooper though if anywhere near reasonable to get hm.

Bruce Allen also badly missed on hiring FA. Out of the top 8 FA hired last year, 6 ended up on IR, some missing the whole year. 6/8 is a terrible percentage! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2020
Completely unrelated. But I gather from your signature and your screen name that you flew A-10s? Either way thank you for your service, and is it true that the A-10’s guns make the most intimidating sound on earth?

Re: Redskins Salary Cap Status - 2020
Their engines are enough to scare the crap out of you let alone their guns. Was in the Rhine valley on a trip in 81, and they flew all the time. You couldn't mistake the sound of them flying down the valley towards you!
