Look Marcus Mason is not the answer here. He is not a replacement for Portis and he is not a featured back. Case closed end of story.

Renaldo Wynn is just a veteran locker room guy with some much needed leadership skills. He wont even be active on game days.

I like the Levi Jones signing. Not sure why we did not cut our losses with Betts now or tried to trade him for a 5th or 6th rounder. Would have like to see Aldridge get some playing time on KR or as a 3rd down back. Oh well he is cut again.

I didn't watch the game for the first time in years.
I choose to be happy again.

Levi Jones will start after the bye...I guarantee it.
Heyer aint a horrible RT though.
We basically now have 4 Tackles that are very similar...they all kinda SUCK
Its just that Levi probably sucks less than the others...assuming he knew the playbook!
(excluding Samuals of course)
The front office apparently did. Heyer was an undrafted free agent. Most of us probably figured he would be a backup, someone who could hold up for a game or two -- but certainly not a full-time starter. What the fans correctly see as a stop-gap measure, the front office wrongly sees as a long term answer.

Yet again, guess who was right?

I don't think the front office saw him as a long-term answer at LT at all. RT yes. LT no.

Yeah, that's what I meant. He went in for Jansen at RT originally. But Zorn says LT is his 'natural' position . . .

yup, MM may have reached his nfl apex this year. someone might pick him up as a 3rd rb due to injuries, but don't expect to ever see the guy in a normal rotation all year.

Its funny to me how some 'veteran' members here find it necessary to bust the balls of some who show extreme frustration and emotion. I'm guilty of showing extreme frustration, and probably should step away from the keyboard for 10 minutes before posting, but it ain't always gonna happen. Anyway this is the worst clusterf*%k Ive ever experienced as a fan in my life. I have nothing left at this point in time. I really hope we DON'T have the worst record in the entire NFL at seasons end as I previously stated, but we will see. I'm like the majority of fans, frustrated, over it, no light at the end of the tunnel kind of mentality as long as this front office remains the same. I am a Redskins fan and that will never change, but I cant wait for the day that I can be a PROUD Redskins fan once again.

I've had to come to this realization after being one of his major supporters. My family member informed me that the team cut Mason and Alridge because they were still having issues with MM not picking up the his blocks in practice or in the KC game. Aparently he whiffed on two plays in which ARE could have gotten the ball and one on another play which had JC had time one of our WR's would have gotten a good gain. Alridge was cut cause during practice he still keeps fumbling. They don't want to put him on the field for fear he will fumble during a game.

I don't know where my family got the info...they don't have any inside connections just passing along what may have been the problem and as I said I was a major supporter of MM and Alridge. If this is the true issue then I think we can all agree MM and Alridge were not going to help the team. Although, being the stubborn person that I am, I threw out there that they should cut Sellers also since he supposedly has been missing his blocks also according to Portis. But...wake up call for me. There will be other players in the future for whome we can back and maybe ones that can actually perform.

Well #1 I don't see why anyone would have any hope for Mon. night? What has this team done "this year" that would lead anyone to believe that we are going to do well Mon. night?

and.....cutting MM who hardly saw the field and Alridge who never saw the field....how is that making you lose hope? I think hope has already been lost and I think the players hope has been crushed also. Which is why we see half hearted attempts at everything they do.

They either believe or they don't. I they still believed I think we would see more of a fight out of them.

I'm a bit late to the thread, but I like these signings for a couple of reasons.

First, Joe Bugel might be old, but I think he can get Jones to produce at a decent starter level. Heck, with Samuels out, in 2-3 weeks it'll better than what we have right now.

Second, the running back we signed will give us an option at change of pace back and fullback. Sherman Smith might know something we don't.

Third, MM and AA suck.

Exactly. We've been hearing for a few years how he's the next Walter Payton. He's barely better than a practice squad player and he's received more carries than he really deserved as a #3/#4 back this season. He's failed at making an impact twice with us and once with the Jets.

I've never heard of the new RB, but his scouting report sounds promising and at this point, we need to try new things with some new personnel, on and off the field.

Picking up Levi Jones is overdue. Great move and I'll give the team credit for making it, even if late. If he can stay healthy, he has a lot of potential and really, he's the best FA we could get right now. No team is trading or releasing quality linemen.

You thought Mason was going to win the game for us? You think it's a BAD move to pick up another offensive lineman?
