NFL Uses Jamaal Charles Injury to Promote Fantasy Football

In my opinion this is as tasteless and classless as it gets:

I saw it and really didn't think twice about it honestly.

Anyone who has lost a guy to injury, especially a 1st round pick can certainly relate.

Ive never played fantasy so maybe i just dont get it.

It just seems pretty crappy to me to use a football player's season ending and potentially career changing injury to promote your fantasy game. If I was a player and read “Injury Ruined Your Fantasy Season?” with Charles being carted off while in obvious pain on the NFL’s website Id be pissed. Maybe im just too PC….

I agree with you. I had Charles on one of my teams, so it sucks that he went down. To show a guy on a cart in pain with a severe knee injury just to promote a product is pretty darn lousy IMO.

I dont think its classless promotion, but maybe a little bad taste in regards to the picture. Its a clever spin to use, but a lil thoughtless on the pic.

You never played fantasy football? WTF are you waiting for, its great

At first i just thought the name Fantasy Football just sounded "gay", not in a homosexual way but in the goofy/ironic/curious way, and was fun to poke fun at as a non-player.

I didnt know people actually play for money though until 2 years ago, and ill be the first to admit watching a game when there is money on the line is one of the most exciting ways to watch a game in my opinion.

So i can see how fantasy can be real exciting. But whats keeping me away from Fantasy at this point is that i see people spend so much time on it that it makes it unappealing to me. I just dont want to start something i know ill get consumed with.

If you are Jamaal Charles, that is definitely classless.

Initially, I thought it was classless, then I didn't care, now that I'm looking at it again it really is a bad idea. They could have done without the picture.

I'm sure Jamaal Charles feels better knowing his injury is being used to promote fantasy football -- bad decision in retrospect

Well they pulled the ad, so I guess ultimately someone decided it was in poor taste

I really didn't have much of response to it. A slight feeling of sympathy for the dude.

They didn't need to use the picture. They could have just shown a fantasy football roster row with Jamaal Charles showing he is injured.
