Thanks to all for the welcome!

Just wanted to share my thoughts on Joe and the staff. I am going to defer to their judgement. 3 titles will do that to a guy. Looking at last year's draft, they did ok, didn't they? Taylor, Cooley, Molinaro, Wilson. Let's see how it goes. Remember the days when the draft wasn't televised and there was no internet? We would reserve judgement for the team on the field. I like our FA pickups and I'm not really worried about the loss of Smoot and Pierce. No playoff games with either of them on the team, so boo-frickin' -hoo. Good FB draft picks and McCune could be a stud. As far as Santana Moss goes...I seem to remember the front office loving him a few years back when he was in the draft. Marty took Rod. I think our WRs will be better than expected: Jacobs, Moss, Patten...remember Sanders, Clark, Garrett? We are looking better than some think. I look forward to a tough team that WILL make the playoffs this year!!

Re: Thanks to all for the welcome!

Better than expected isn't exactly a glowing compliment, many people project them to be among the leagues worst. I think we had a pretty productive late draft. Just not pleased with the first round myself.

You can defer to someone's judgement all you like, but at this point in time doesn't make their guess any better than yours. I think we got two very talented players, but I think we gave up too much for them (BMW and Picks.)

I hope you're right - I hope we make the playoffs. Unless we really open up the offensive playbook and get innovative with our routes/plays I simply don't see it happening.

if our players can stay healthy we'll make the playoffs. I honestly think is we would not last jansen we would have gone alot further on during the season. lets not lose anyone in pre-season

Welcome!

I agree on our draft last year I think we did a very good job considering the amount of pick's. That doesn't mean we take this year off, we had a real opportunity to help this team and didn't do it. Yes you are correct the smurfs were small fast guy's, but you forgot about papa smurf Art Monk, who would go across the middle and make the tough catches and I think a lot of us are very disapointed that we didn't address that need with so much WR talent out there.

I like Rogers a lot I think he's a considerable upgrade over Smoot but that remains to be seen, as for the rest of the draft, I will tell you this Newberry wont make it I saw some film on him and forget it, the guy runs a 4.72 as a LB and he's not fluid, I am optimistc about the rest though.

I was upset at first when we picked Campbell at 25 but now I think it is a good thing. Hopefully it will be like San Diego last year and really light a fire under Ramsey and Ramsey will finally live up to what everyone thinks he can. Also, Rogers was a solid pick. I was hoping Rolle would have been there but I think Carlos might turn out to be better. I also think Mike Williams is going to be a bust!! They might have to put him at Tight end in a few years.

I do like the fact that we have 3 rock-solid linemen in Samuels, Rabach and Jansen. Our Guards are more than adequate. I really do think our o-line will be great this year.

me too i just reemember the days when our line was so deep it takes time to build that kinda depth though. we gonna get us some dlinemen next year i am sure and some wideouts. We dont have many holes though our dline was great last year we got Griffin still I am excited about this season i am in charlotte i will be at the first preseason game against the panthers to see our new picks in action.

Awesome, I might try to make it to that one myself. Preseason is MUCH cheaper than regular.

Re: Thanks to all for the welcome!

Panthers fans are pretty cool people. They aren't assholes like a lot of Ravens fans.

We could have the depth again if it was not for the cap. Back then if gibbs wanted a player he went to Cooke and talk him into getting that player. Could you just imagine how much money Dany boy would spend if there was no cap.

Exactly. Even if a team came into Lexington, VA, I wouldn't change my allegiance.

Re: Thanks to all for the welcome!

For me, the problem always comes back to Brunell, in that the last time Gibbs and Co. did something seemingly insane that flummoxed fans and baffled analyists (and no, we don't need to rehash the reasons why) I "deferred to Gibbs." But in the end, me, alot of fans, and all the analysists were right. Gibbs was wrong. I admit no one could have known how wrong, but all our criticisms turned out to be sage. Gibbs and Vinny didn't know what they were doing.

Maybe this is different but I just can't quell my skepticism. When they do something crazy again - one again involving quarterback no less - its really hard for me to not say oh s---, here we go again!
