Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Well when he does have a winning season at least it's with 12 plus wins

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
I wonder if Fisher will take the TV route. Are there any open DC positions?

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Jack Pardee had 6 winning seasons in 11 years just like Fisher did in 16 years. Was Pardee a great coach? I don't think so.

He'll sit out the year and wait for next year when someone comes crawling for his services.

I would give Shanahan 2 more years.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Agreed, although if he pulls stupid stuff like this year, it'd be hard to keep him for a third year. Although I really hope this doesn't happen, I hope that we turn it around this year.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
I think he already asserted himself and let everyone know who's the boss.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Well that's great, but it gave us a shitty season. We have a lot of rebuilding to do, but it would be nice to see the team play well and for the team to avoid more drama between the coach and the players and to be competitive against teams instead of getting a beating like we got against the Eagles. Hopefully MS is done showing off who's the boss, and he can focus on improving this team.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
It's highly doubtful that he'll take a coordinator position

Washburn is the Eagles d-line coach. The d-coordinator job is still open.

Think of it like this. If a mechanic wants to rebuild an engine, he doesn't just simply add parts to it that he needs, he takes the engine apart, tests parts that he thinks works, gets the parts that he needs to replace, puts it together, and then tweaks it until he knows it working in unison with the other mechanical parts of the car. That's pretty much what Mike had to do this year. He's in the taking things apart and testing each piece deal. Next year, he knows a little more about what he needs and hopefully once he gets the pieces in place (which might take a couple more seasons,) he should then have a team that just takes a few tweaks here and there, but is ready to compete.

I am also surprised by the number of people dumping on Shanny so soon. Yeah he didn't make some of the best calls, but when you are dealing with an ass clown like Haynesworth its not an easy situation to deal with. Things will get better... If people who are hating on Shanny already think Zorn or even Gibbs 2.0 could do a better job they need to start following a different sport.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Well, I'll say this about Gibbs 2.0. For the mess that the Redskins were in before he came back, he did a great job with getting the team to two playoff appearances in four years. yeah, he had two losing seasons, but that was by far a lot better job than what we had witnessed with previous coaches. Personally, if not for age, Gibbs the second time around would have eventually built a great team, but I think he realized he wasn't going to be around past his initial contract, so he wanted to put together a team he felt could win right away.
As far as Zorn, he just was not given a chance to succeed. A great opportunity, but not one that he would have been very successful with.
