Re: LaRon Landry to IR
Anyone else concerned that dude could be juicing? He put on A LOT of lean muscle mass in the offseason, he's been a remarkably better player this year, and now he's having ligament issues. I fully admit it's not likely, and i hesitate to post it, but I've had that doubt for a while now.

Re: LaRon Landry to IR
I heard on the LaVar and Dukes show (so take this for what it's worth) that it could "rupture at any time." If that's the case, it was definitely the right call to shut him down. The team has to protect a guy from himself and make sure he's not going to talk trainers into thinking he can go. If they let him go and he gets hurt, I'd blame the team. It makes sense to IR him and not have to take that risk.
The season's over anyway, no sense in putting him out there. We know what we have. I want to know if Doughty is good enough to be a part of this team going forward. I'd like to find that out about Horton too, but I think we may already have our answer on that. As for Doughty, he's a fair backup, but I wouldn't mind looking into FA for someone to make him earn his spot next year. |

Re: LaRon Landry to IR
Yeah, another player had a similar injury. I can't remember who. Randy Thomas maybe? Either way, that player didn't go on IR when his achilles was aggravated and he ultimately ruptured it and was never the same again. Skins don't want that with Landry

Doughty has started here quite a bit over the years & the D has not suffered when he's been in. I think he's more than adequate & is a guy that deserves his spot. He's one of the best tacklers on the team & plays run support very well. His downside is man coverage, but in the zone he's ok at that. I don't see the need to try to replace him, but free safety is another story. Kareem Moore is one of, if not the, biggest disappointments this year. I thought he looked quite good in limited duty last year. This year he always seems lost, late to the play & his tackling is less than tentative. I know he's played w/some little ailments, maybe there's more to it than has been reported. I hope that's the case, cause if he's been healthy for the most part, his game hasn't shown enough to merit even making the team next year if they bring in competition. |

Re: LaRon Landry to IR
Yeah, that's also what prompted me to say the above... I don't understand how anyone could recover so quickly. He says he's going balls out on the weights late at night before games. I mean, he is human... that said, I hope I'm wrong and truly there's nothing for it but conjecture.
