Let's agree to not continue comparing JC and McNabb all year

re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
I personally try to steer clear of that stat. From what I've seen it's not exactly fair to peg wins and losses solely on the QB. My favorite example being 2008 Drew Brees. In 2008 the Saints were 7-9 when Brees posted a 96.2 passer rating with an 8.0 YPA. 2008 also saw Aaron Rodgers post a 93.2 passer rating with 7.5 YPA for a 6-10 team.
By the Wins-Loss rational Kerry Collins, Tavaris Jackson, and Jake Delhome were all better QB's in 2008 then Brees and Rodgers.

re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
^ Exactly. I moved on during JC's second yr. I'm not a fan nor a basher, he was a nice kid personally, but for whatever reason not able to get over the hump.
I'll say this though seeing the thread today (obviously late) I rolled my eye's and thought "can't people just move on", and saw several people saying that very thing. When I saw the "please lock this thread" I thought yes please, lets stop trying to add insult to injury. Now I'm thinking "please leave this thread open" otherwise we will constantly have wonderful people starting a thread each week to talk about how bad JC is playing. So instead of that lets keep this one open so the very same people who can't let go can continue to talk to themselves about JC. |

Come on Matty, you sure you dont want to continue the thread from last year comparing Jay Cutler, Dirty Sanchez, and JC? We could just go ahead and add McNabb to the list. Because that was real productive

The Raiders are not a good team.
They're WRs are sub-par. The OL is sub-par. They have a decent to slightly above average running game. It would be a tall task getting production from that unit for a veteran OC and Jackson is basically a rookie. Bottom line JC's production goes as the OL+WRs+OC It was the 1st game against a good team, does everyone here expect our Redskins offense to struggle the way they did Week 1 for the entire season? I didn't think so. |

Wow this sparked some debate, I personally could careless and wish JC the best. QB rating is is like WHiP in baseball the number really doesn't tell the whole story of how good the QB or pitcher played. So many intangibles that those stats don't capture. McNabb on the final drive was awesome he kept us alive and the ball out of the Cowboys hands, hard to measure that in a QB rating but it played a major role in the outcome of the game.

If things continue to go the way the way they have so far in Oakland, what little confidence JC had going when he left here will soon dissipate. It won't be long before he'll finally discover the fact the NFL may not exactly be his calling.

re: The never ending Jason Campbell player haters ball
Or that is a bad idea to be a mediocre/below average QB playing behind terrible offensive lines.
