Where would that leave Palmer?

Practice squad, NFL-E next year.. Bramlett should be the #3 this year.. Collins was a safety blanket last year since he was the only one who knew the offense besides Saunders.

I think there is a good chance that we will carry four QB's on the roster this year, so yes I do think there is a pretty good chance of Bramlet making it as a #3, or #4.

I hope by 2008 that both the young guys make the squad, so we have some big cannons as backups if JC goes down or somehow doesn't cut it.

He is currently leading there league in Passing Yards, Touchdown Passes & QB rating.

I think he has a real good shot at being our #3 QB. We all know the teams love for Mark, but a really think one of these two has a real good chance of getting cut. Keeping Palmer on the pratice squad.
No, and only because we invested a pick in Jordan Palmer. I think Palmer will make the roster.

Re: Do you think Casey Bramlet has a chance to make #3 QB

Brunell and Campbell are becoming more familiar with Saunders' 700-page playbook, so Collins' role as playbook-translator is less important. Collins is old and getting older. So, while I think Collins has value, his value is diminishing.

Personally, I'd like to see Campbell develop into a solid starter with a firm hold on the #1 position, Brunell holding down the fort at #2, and either Bramlet or Palmer at #3. Third-string QBs rarely hit the field and I'd like to see if we could develop a young QB to replace Brunell in 2008 or, at the very least, develop into a mediocre backup.

If Bramlett or Palmer can't show enough to warrent the 3rd string position ahead of Collins I would really have to question thier ability to play in the NFL, Collins is horrible he has to be the odd man out. I really don't want to see Brunell come near the field this season, but I doubt Bramlett will show enough to position himself for the #2 spot behind Campbell leaving the #3 spot for Palmer, Palmer and Bramlett will have to battle it out for the 3rd string backup. It would be very nice to see both of those guy's show enough to make the final roster but that wont happen.

With Bramletts numbers if he can keep improving he may at some point catch the eye of another team and have some trade value or stay and become our #2 guy next year after Brunell retires. I do not watch NFl Eur. but is he playing that good or does he just have that good of a team.

I saw a bit of game earlier this week. I wasn't that impressed. He totally underthrew a wide open receiver and cost his team a sure touchdown. But that was one bad play. It looked like the other team's secondary really sucked or his WRs were that good. The CBs back were almost always turned or out of position.

I'd still prefer him to Collins though. Give him or Palmer a shot.

Re: Do you think Casey Bramlet has a chance to make #3 QB

I think that it comes down to who plays better in camp. I believe in letting players in effect make the decision about who is going to make the team, start, etc.

If Collins is here and he plays best, he's third string. In fact, if he plays better than Jason Campbell, I think he should start. I would not expect that, but my point is that I do think that that is the way to make decisions about the lineup. Campbell I expect like everyone else in the world to start, but only because I think he is the best player, not because he is anointed for other reasons.

Let the players play, and play the ones who play the best - not who you think will be the best - who is the best.

Re: Do you think Casey Bramlet has a chance to make #3 QB

Even though Collins has known the offense alot longer than every other quarterback, I think we are all missing one point: Collins will never get on the field. His only purpose was to help teach the other QB's learn th system fatser and to better understand the playbook. Now, his job is done and since we are in year two when the Al Saunders offense usually explodes out of the gate, I say cut collins loose. He no longer has a use to this orginization and I think Joe Gibbs knew that and that is why we drafted Palmer to be the three when Brunell retires and Bramlett will be the two at that point. But, I think we should get rid of Collins. He is a "moo point" right now.

Re: Do you think Casey Bramlet has a chance to make #3 QB

I'd love to see Bramlet get a chance, but I think our draft pick Palmer will be the #3. Since we drafted him (and he DOES show promise), we should do what we can to develop him. We'll need a backup when Brunell retires.

Really, it won't make a difference if Bramlet, Palmer or Collins is #3. If we're down to our #3 QB, our season is already lost.

Re: Do you think Casey Bramlet has a chance to make #3 QB

I don't think people are saying we'd want them to be playing. I think people are saying they'd much rather retain a backup that has a lot of promise than eventually get to where we lose Brunell and Collins and we're like, "Uh oh! Now what?"

Bramlet is still a long shot. Tearing up the NFLE isn't saying much. Danny Wuerffel was a freaking all-star over there.

So you think Casey is a long shot for the #3 spot?

I think collins is on his way out, Casey would IMO be the most reasonable replacement at the #3 spot.
