Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue

I believe that Randle El would be the best fit at #2 WR for us. I have seen plenty of Steelers games becuase I live in Central Pennsylvania, and Randle El impresses me a lot, he reminds me a lot of Santana, and I think that's what we need on this team is another short explosive receiver just like the "Smurfs" back in the day. I know Randle El has only had 7 tds in his career, but I can see us using him for Screens, and trick plays since he was a QB in College, I also think that he will take a lot of pressure of Moss and Cooley, and I would like to see Saunders implement a 3 wr set with Moss, Randle El, and Patten. I hope Antwaan will be the receiver we pick up in Free Agency, but their is also a chance that Pittsburgh might resign him, but here's to hoping.

You definitely have some supporters of the idea around here. There are also the ones who think TO is the answer.

Welcome to the board. I've been clamoring for Randle-el for a while now. As have others here. He would be a great addition to the team.

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing Randle-El in a Skins uniform. He return kicks/punts too, nice bonus!

Should be interesting to see what sort of impact Saunders has on personnel selection. Will we stick with the small/fast type, or look for a bigger WR. All I know is Saunders will likely want speed.

Dont get me wrong I would like to have Randle el, but he is the same size as Moss. We need a bigger WR, a possion type WR.

Buy "possion", did you mean a magical Potion or what? And Gardner was a credit to your theory.

i think KR or curtis (or even moulds) would give better production for equal or less money than randal-el.

Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue

Thanks for the welcome. It's nice to see that their are some people pushing for Randle El. As for Saunders keeping short explosive receivers as opposed to the TO Prototype receivers I just look back to the receivers he had in KC (Hall, Kennison, Parker) they're all pretty small receiver so I think Saunders will keep the smaller guys. As for Koren Robinson I would like to see him but I rather have Randle El, Moulds is a great Receiver but he is getting up there in age, and that makes me wonder how much he has left in the tank. I think Randle El is the most legitmate #2 Receiver for us given his age and how it seems that the Redskins are building this team around some younger guys.

???
KR can return kicks but last I checked he isn't as athletic. I am pretty sure he can't be relied on to throw options or take reverses and make a play. I think KR could be a great downfield threat but I also think he could end up roaming his neighborhood naked and babbling with steak knife wounds all over him. That diminishes his value a bit. Randle El might be more expensive but probably not terribly much more and he doesn't have nay character issues that I know of. He probably isn't the potential downfield threat of KR but he does other things that the Skins could use nicely.
Curtis is intriguing but again ARE seems to have a few more tricks in his bag than Curtis. ARE would also be cheaper than Moulds I think. Moulds is a vet with something left in the tank. Somone will pony up for him.

I didn't know that Kevin Curtis is also a free agent. Either he or Randal El would fit the bill - both have exposive speed. Add either one, and it will make a huge difference for Moss. Cooley becomes even more effective as a posession receiver with teams pre-occupied with our WR speed. We can them move Patten to #3 WR, which was his position with the Pats. I'm really excited about our offense with Saunders coming in.

Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue

My concern with the "smurfs" analogy is that I believe DB's (along with everyone else in the NFL) have gotten bigger since the 80's. For this reason I would prefer someone larger. With the amount of attention Moss receives, I would prefer someone who can get a jump ball when they are in single coverage.

As far as Randle El goes, don't forget -- Bill Cowher and the Steeler organization has never bent over backwards to make sure they retain key players -- Kendrell Bell, Plaxico. They have always been able to find adequate replacements.

KR might not run trick plays as well, but thats a terribly small percentage of total production and randal-el's numbers just aren't very good.

Curtis is an RFA and would cost a 3rd rounder, but he'd be worth it.
