Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread
Commanders sign rugby player to play defensive end:
https://commanderswire.usatoday.com/...r/82796377007/ Count me in the group that wants to trade for Trey Hendrickson. Sack machine, very durable, and just turned 30. We need more playmakers on defense. |

Here is something I read recently that makes me think the Bengals won't be able to sign him: From their Executive VP Katie Blackburn, "I think he [Hendrickson] should be happy at certain rates that maybe he doesn't think he'd be happy at," Blackburn said Tuesday, via NFL Media. "I think some of it is on him to be happy at some point, and if he's not, you know, that's what holds it up sometimes. So, you know, it takes him to say yes to something, and also, we have all the respect in the world for him. He's been a great player. We're happy to have him. And so maybe we'll find a way to get something to work. We're just gonna see where it goes." I bolded the worst parts of her stupid comments. What she says is not negotiating. It is telling him to stop being "greedy" and take what they are willing to offer. We all know this team is cheap and they have already gone out of character to sign three offensive players to monster contracts. I doubt that they will even tag Hendrickson because they won't want to have another huge contract on the books. Now would be a good time for the Commanders to make Cincy a very good trade offer for him that they can hardly refuse due to their cheapness and then sign him to a nice contract. p.s. It seems to me that Trey needs a better agent.

Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread
I honestly view it as the missing link for this team to go to and win a Super Bowl is a legit playmaker on defense. Defense should be improved, but we need more. Get Hendrickson and draft another defensive playmaker. Load up on more oline also.

Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread
You would have a rookie on a rookie contract and give Hendrickson the big deal. Quite plausible. Getting a rookie is an unknown. Hendrickson is an absolute proven stud sack machine at a super important position of need. I cannot emphasize enough how important a pass rushing def end is in the NFL. Hendrickson has missed 1 start in the last 5 years. Make it happen.
