The Jets just simply did not throw Moss a lot of balls in his last two years and he needed a fresh start which he got w/ Brunell and the Skins. CP knew Moss from Miami so he pushed hard for Gibbs to make a run at him but Gibbs thought the Jets would never give him up.

The interesting part is the depth it goes into about the routes. A lot of the routes they run are completely reliant on the chemistry between those two and apparently they just immediately clicked. There were a lot of little things the article pointed out that help the chemistry for instance, if you’ve ever seen Brunell in the game looking at Moss after the play and giving him the thumbs up, he’s actually asking ‘Were you open there?’. It starts with a breakdown of the two TDs in Dallas as Moss’s coming out party and how Brunell basically called that play himself. Then they focus on a route which Patten brought over from the Pats called the Poker or Post-Curl and how a vertical threat is needed to make this effective. This is the play that pulled two huge gains in the Seattle game and has worked in all kinds of variations since then. It then goes on to say he’s headed to Honolulu this year and points out and interesting stat that Moss is the NFL leader in number of plays 25 yds or greater this year.

That’s the gist of it, it gave me a ton of confidence in our QB/WR tandem. And that last stat shows that we’ve come a long way since last year when we couldn’t get a big play to save our lives. This probably doesn’t do the article justice so I’d recommend picking it up if you get a chance
Nice summary thanks
