Re: Chaos at the Capitol: New thread edition
It's absolutely the time of centrist. It's a 50/50 split in the senate and you aren't going to pass any Democratic legislation that's ultra progress with needing Manchin, Sinema and Kelly's vote. They aren't going to vote to get rid of the filibuster either so yeah. Dems will need to win another 3-4 seats in 2022 if they want to do some real things they want.

Also think they should go to ranked choice voting instead of our current setup.

Re: Chaos at the Capitol: New thread edition
This video is very hard to tell, but using this photo we can line up the moment where Officer Sicknick is dragged into the crowd and beaten, eventually causing his death. If you line up the people in the first 20ish seconds of the video with the picture, you can see where they dragged Officer Sicknick down the stairs. His death lies at the hands of those responsible for inciting this coup. RIP.

Just a rumor right now, but I have friends in LE saying this USCP officer just committed suicide. RIP.

---------------------------------------- https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1...203760644.html This guy did a breakdown of Trump's speech inciting the insurrection (which leaves no doubt in my mind Trump is responsible). He literally tells the crowd he's going to march to the Capitol with them, and then he hops in his limo and goes back to the WH. https://wtop.com/dc/2021/01/prosecut...fficers-death/ If prosecutors follow through with this and charge people with felony murder (for those who don't know, felony murder is a charge people get tacked on with when someone dies in the commission of another felony) those people are going to be really upset unless Trump pardons them. Which leads me to my next point, Trump absolutely needs to be removed because no doubt he is probably already considering pardoning anybody charged in connection with this insurrection.

Every time I see a new video from the Capitol, I feel like I shouldn't be surprised. But listen to the woman talking with the bullhorn, she knows her way around and she actually sounds annoyed at the incompetence. "If we're gonna take the building" what do you think happens if you take the Capitol while lawmakers are in session? I think LE is reserving the serious charges for after Trump is out of office so he can't do anything about it then.
