I don’t it’s been perfect and don’t think we have reached elite level, but I think everyone can see improvement. It’s a def a top 10 dline, probably just outside top 5.

Give it another year in the system and add a MLB...we move into top 5
Micah Parsons, Penn State.

He's sitting this year out and PSU is winless. I love seeing that.

Its also worth pointing out how a poor offense hurts a D. More time on the field etc., not to mention some of the sort fields that have been handed to the opposition. A more consistent O and thus D would look better.

Having quality LB play would make the difference in the eye test. They're asked to be so versatile, hands in the dirt, cover a TE or RB and I don't think we have that.

One guy that I would love to keep is Settle, I think he’s better than Allen.

Settle would definitely start on a lot of teams. He's gonna get a nice, well deserved paycheck. He is one of my favorite guys on the team.

I'm not sure about better than Allen because the later is a monster and has the potential to make huge plays (he had a very solid game on Sunday IMO).

But yeah Settle is a keeper, he starts on many teams and plays with great effort !

I agree with Chico. Consider the missing pieces in reverse of you will. SF had a D last year that got them to the big one. Start off this year and it's largely unchanged, if not improved. Now take away a few great players and they are middle of the pack. Just think, if we added 2-3 missing pieces, we could easily move from top 10 to top 5.

People are also forgetting the loss of Matty I. He was pur best interior rusher and great at collapsing the pocket

I agree 100%. He was a beast, and Settle is good but not dominant.

Re: Bengals @ WFT postgame thread

Being it Rivera and Del Rio’s first year, dealing with Covid, dealing with Ron’s diagnosis, dealing with the constant shit-storm Snyder brings to the organization and any other issues we in the public don’t see...

I’m pleased with where the team is.

With plenty of cap space and a full repertoire of draft picks, we should be set up nicely going into next year and beyond.

I think with the week 1 win and the division being in shambles people forgot this was never supposed to be a year we were legit contenders.

Settle in his limited role has been dominant, better than Payne and Allen.

3rd on the team in sacks
3rd in tackles for loss
4th in quarterback hits
