Kearse worries me from a health standpoint. I'd rather have Wistrom.

Agreed. Wistrom or even Hicks is much less risky than gambling on a splashy, expensive star who's missed 14 games in the last two seasons.

Hopefully Gibbs can help Snyder understand that the game is about more than signing the flashiest, most expensive FAs on the market every summer. Look at what the Pats have done with their "no name" acquisitions, steady performers who fit into the system. Unfortunately, we've had no real "system" in recent years ... it seems to change dramatically every season. I have the feeling that Kearse, while still young, is this year's Deion or Bruce. All the injuries will add up to a lack of production. I say avoid the obvious desperation move and sign someone else for cheaper.

Oh yes, Gibbs is setting a terrific example paying all that money for Brunell. How about once someone explains to Gibbs what a salary cap is, he can explain how you need to go after no-name underdevloped players.

There's a reason the Redskins make more money than any other franchise. It's Snyder and the players he gets.

Are you kidding me? The reason the Redskins are the most valuable team in the NFL is because of the fan base built by Gibbs during the 80s. It sure as hell is not because of Snyder, who has been an unmitigated failure thus far. These "great" players Snyder has overpaid for haven't done jack -- this team has sucked under Snyder. The Brunell move may not be popular right now, but I'll go with Gibbs' judgment over Snyder's any day.
