Re: 2018 Mock Drafts

Isaiah Wynn, OT/G/C, Georgia*
Height: 6-2. Weight: 302.*
Projected 40 Time: 5.10.*
Projected Round (2018): 2-3.*
1/6/18:*Wynn has impressed scouts this season as an excellent run blocker for the Bulldogs. He blocks with aggression and has a temperament that is hard to find in college blockers. In pass protection, Wynn has been very dependable as well.*

Because he is shorter and doesn't have ideal length, some sources think that Wynn could move to guard or center in the NFL. Wynn started at left guard in 2016, but scouts think he is athletic enough to also play center. Wynn's size and skill set has drawn comparisons to Kelvin Beachum, who is undersized but has managed to carve out a career at left tackle in the NFL. Wynn is just a natural football player who finds a way to get the job done, thus he might end up sticking at left tackle.

I like this kid, could be a good pick up if he drops to the 3rd or 4th.

Maybe, but I would sign FA G Norwell and save the picks for defense

Yeah, he's apparently the best guard in the league and young, but he's probably going to command close to 13 mil / year. I'm not sure we can sink that much into G. Certainly not if we sign Cousins.

Also, we have our own homegrown talent to sign (Spencer Long). Im not sure we need a high priced probowler, it's already our strongest unit. Injuries do happen though, and it seems like you need to always be developing young lineman. I really like some of our backup guys like Nsekhe and Kouandjo, but we need a young versatile guy or two that can be plugged in anywhere on the line and be at least good and potentially develop into the next starter wherever they fit best on the line.

$13 million would be the highest paid guard in the NFL. I would pay him $10.

Reportedly the Redskins are not interested in signing Long. And Kouandjo is nothing special.

http://www.detroitlionspodcast.com/l...ndrew-norwell/

I really don't know Norwell, and not that this is a definitive source, but if it is accurate that he rates out as the best Guard in the NFL this year than I would expect as a free agent he would be looking to be the highest paid.

That's interesting about Long, where have you heard this? From everything that I have read he seems to be a solid starter, but I haven't paid close attention.

Can't rule it out until we know what's going to happen with Kirk. And I can't definitively say that letting Kirk go and drafting Baker wouldn't be the best thing for our future.

I'd rather keep Kirk and draft a defensive lineman at 13. But who knows.

If we lose Kirk I've said all along that I want BM, not just because I'm a Sooner but because the dude is a playmaker that is hungry to show people he is the real deal.

Re: 2018 Mock Drafts

Baker Mayfield Scouting report from Walter football

Strengths:
Play-maker

Gunslinger attitude
Instincts
Can be an accurate passer with good ball placement
Throws receivers open
Excellent touch passer
Throws a very catchable ball
Superb ball placement and timing to lead receivers for yards after the catch
Throws with good timing
Mobility
Escapability to extend plays
Difficult to sack
Good at throwing on the run
Can pick up yards on the ground
Enough arm to make all the throws in the NFL
Leadership potential

All of the ones in bold are the big pros he can bring and is why many compare him to Russell Wilson.

Weaknesses:
Undersized; shorter than ideal
Poor footwork
Gets happy feet in the pocket
Inconsistent field vision
Can have issues reading the field
Teams question how will he perform when forced to stay in the pocket?
Didn't play a lot of top competition
Maturity
Will need more development for working under center
Transition from a college-style to pro-style offense

Baker Mayfield: “I will play anywhere that gives me a chance” – ProFootballTalk

My guy has been doubted his whole career, he will continue to prove them wrong.

Watching this I got pretty hyped about Mayfield, but I've been concerned hesitant about him coming from the Big 12, spread offense, etc. This has always been a big arguments about QBs from one of my best friends that is a college football junkie and huge skins fan. Every time one of these prospects has come out in the draft he's said no way, and he's always been right about it. He wants Mayfield over any QB option out there including Cousins (on a top QB contract). Not that this will mean anything top anyone else, but I'm with you man. If we can't resign cousins, I think I'm gonna let myself get hyped and all in with this kid. He just seems like a baller!

Edit: https://foxsportsradio.iheart.com/co...aker-mayfield/

Hadn't heard this before, but apparently he's who Scot would draft.

Is he Carson Wentz? No but he could be a Wilson and we all know how that has worked out for them, yes the D carried them to a SB but Russ helped bring them back in that fluke loss to NE.

BUT Let's be clear I want Kirk back, he's our own guy and has shown he is a proven top 10 QB.

Re: 2018 Mock Drafts

Mason Rudolph is the most recent QB name associated with the skins from this draft that I've heard. Though, Mayfield is the most popular one right now. That said, it might work out well top be able to go bpa defense in the first round and nab Rudolph in the 2nd. Most believe he's a developmental pick, but maybe the best option available will be a project to sit behind Colt for a year or so while they continue to build the defense. Anywho, this clip helped his case with me:

http://w3.cdn.anvato.net/player/prod...NSI6dHJ1ZX0%3D

Listen to him at 00:41 ... maybe he knows he's being looked atby the skins lol. Either way I appreciate the reference.

Also, think of how fun Christmas eve games would be.
