I don't know what to think except that I believe coach Gibbs knows exactly what he is doing.

That is the most sensible post I have seen on this subject.

Re: Brunell Starting

Harsh is not the word, and I think Gibbs is letting the media drive him to play Brunell and prove critiques wrong in their assessment that it was a horrible move. I read somewhere that Buges mentioned Gibbs is on a mission and saw veins bulging at the criticism he took last year in his offense and coaching abilities. I think he has taking it to far with trying to prove Brunell is the starter for this team. I don't care what our defense can do, but all the three and outs we are going to suffer will wear on the defense as the year goes on. Damn this sucks, but as being a fan I will continue to watch as long as it does not get to painful.

Re: Brunell Starting

This just confirms in my mind thaat Gibbs never liked Ramsey to begin with. Boy after all the promises of sticking with his starter he sure did give Patrick a short lease. This is ludacris. I respect Gibbs a lot but this is a BONEHEAD move. What is he thinking.. he loves Brunell so much he should marry him.. I am really mad about this

Re: Brunell Starting

I know a lot of people think that Gibbs is stubborn and he's trying to force Brunell to look good so that people think he is right. DON'T WE KNOW GIBBS BETTER THAN THIS?

He wants to win, first and foremost. If he feels Brunell will give us a better chance of winning, then by God, I'll stand behind him on that.

Re: Brunell Starting

As long as we beat the Cowboys I don't care if Sean Taylor is the starting QB!

Re: Brunell Starting

Gibbs just speaking with George and Sonny on chanel 4 at 6:00 pm stated that Brunell will be the starter for Monday night's game with the Cowboys. Not really suprising!!!

I'd just say Stevo was fully committed to his opinion. Violently, but fully comitted.

Re: Brunell Starting

The more I see all of our reactions, the more entertained how chapped our asses got over the whole Brunell deal last year in the first place.

I think we've all said it: You have to play nearly mistake-free football to win games.

No matter who it is, they hand the ball to Portis and we run the ball. That's our offense. We have a passing game that's not geared to put up 300-400 yards, but to pick on secondaries that line up to stop Portis.

If you can remember the times that we lost last year, they were due to penalties (which seem cut down this year) and turnovers.

I think Gibbs is trying to eliminate the latter. For example, taking A. Brown out for kick return duty.

That's cool...I'm glad he's starting, I loved when false starts meant the end for drives.

It's obvious that he wants to win and thinks Brunell gives the team the best chance. I disagree, but more to the point I wish he hadn't announced a starter. Make the Cowboys game plan for both... ah well. I'm hoping like hell for a win, but honestly they are going to gang up on the run and dare Brunell to pass. I'm just shocked by what a raw deal Ramsey is getting out of all of this. I kept trying to tell myself he'd play here for a long time and be great, but I think this shows he'll be gone after this season. Trent Green Part II.
