Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I'd guess if the PS4 is cheaper, it won't be by $100, more like $50

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
No pre-owned game restrictions or always online needed for PS4.
Kingdom Hearts 3. Shots fired. Sony wins. Flawless victory.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
I was wrong, PS4 will be $399 after all
Pretty aggressive move I think I'm going to pre-order them both and make a final choice as November gets closer |

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Unless Microsoft pulls an ace out of their sleeve further down the road, I think Sony may end up beating Microsoft in sales.
Now I just gotta figure out how to cough up $400 by the end of the year. Hm.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
steam and gog are great for PC games. I think i have 60-something steam games and paid an average of $1 each for them. a lot were humble bundles, and most i've never or will never play for more than an hour, but it's cheap enough that it doesn't matter. every unreal game for $10? every GTA game for $15? all the spore stuff for $15?
can't be mad at that. |

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
The type of publicity that Xbox is receiving now is brutal. I'm still amazed how many of these "higher ups" even get to the position they are without understanding the concept of test markets or even listening to your customer base. The last MS guy making fun of the nerds got canned, and he was behind the crap that is currently in the Xbox one. Do they not understand this is NOT what the customer wants? /mind boggled

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
500 bucks get out of town!
I learned a hard lesson awhile ago always best to be a wave or two behind technology. If you buy the $500 first gen Xbox One you will be buying it's worst gen of that box for the most money. Same for PS4.

Think about the 360. I believe $400 when it first came out tons of issues the biggest one the ring of death. Now you can get the best built 360 with either kinect or more storage for under 300 bucks and a huge library games to choose from. Xbox One will come out with a handful of exclusive games and I am sure plenty of bugs. Unless you have cash to burn I don't know why anyone would drop 500 bucks on that system. Wait a year or two when they finally bury the 360 get the bugs out of the One and it has a larger library. Not to mention developers need some time with a system before they start perfecting games for them. The saddest part about the new consoles for hard core gamers especially the X1 is that now gaming is just part of what they do not solely what they do. Shot lose all the other stuff sell it for $200 bucks and just focus on gaming; I pay $80 for an awesome game vs. $500 for the box and $60 for a ok game. The worst thing that happen to console gaming as far as the hardcore fans go was the Wii. IT showed developers that if they developed gimmicky games for a larger audience there was more money to be made in that market. How many great video game developer minds were pulled off awesome game designs to work on things like Wii Tennis, Kinect, Wii bowling, PS Eye, etc....just plain sad.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)
Also to add:
Microsoft who gives a fawk that my gaming console can change my TV station. that is why I have a fawking cable box; dipshits! Plus no cable company is going to eliminate their box because that is revenue for them; DUH! Also all the things the say the One can do with your TV; guess what? I can already do it with my 360/Kinect and it sucks! If you have FiOS it will link up with your 360 and you can watch live TV and tell it by voice to change the channel. Big freaking deal.

If they have some sort of trump card up their sleeve they better play it soon. I think it's way to soon to declare a "winner" but Sony has definitely landed the first punch square to the jaw. |
