Hilarious tidbit regarding Spurrier

Ok I'm guilty of bringing up this tired old topic of ball coach bashing... saw this on another site, this is priceless.

Spurrier made his offense run Saturday night for committing illegal procedure penalties on the first two plays of team drills. On Sunday, Spurrier suggested that the Gamecocks’ offensive line needed to commit more penalties while no one’s officiating.

"Our offensive linemen, they’re not grabbing and holding as well as I wish they would right now,” Spurrier said. "I told them the other night, ‘You know there’s no referees out here. Dadgumit, don’t let guys get in the quarterback’s face. Whatever it takes right now. We’ll teach technique and all that a little later. Just learn how to compete. Keep them out of the guy’s face."

Way to go Steve, nice attempt at establishing an emphasis on fundamentals early on. LOL what a joke.

And talk about sending mixed messages, ok I'm gonna make you run for committing penalties one day, the next I'm gonna get on you if you don't commit enough penalties.
