August 12-13th Bel Air, MD BBQ Contest

MD STATE BBQ CHAMPIONSHIP
• Sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society (KCBS)
• Entry Fee $175 ( must be qualified )
• Grand Champion wins $2,500 and an invitation to the American Royal and Jack Daniels Contests in October.

There are 30 spots and 24 are taken as of this afternoon. I told Ms. Elizabeth Cook I would have my application and check in the mail this weekend and have decided to throw my hat into the ring.

I have a shot at this thing and if I win woo hoo and other than that I will have a blast and learn a ton. I'm an old Boy Scout so I like to make check lists so we'll see how I do.

Now... the MONEY?!?!?!?!?!

$200 of Meat [two practice times]
$100 of Gas for 200 mile round trip

... Beer

I want $1,000.00 so I'm gonna get my local business friends to each give me $100 to $500 to me a sponsor and be on my t-shirts and banner. Yeah I'm a marketing whore but I can get this done if I may quote the Beatles "with a little help from my friends". Besides having their name on stuff I will let them eat the 2 Test Practice runs the weeks before I go compete.

I'm EXCITED! You know what? I can win something if things go right and my way or I would not go. I may not win but I bet I can.
