Re: Evaluating the Redskins Trade Bait:
I just looked up the pats
2011 9 total picks 4 in top 2 rounds 2010 12 total picks 4 in top 2 rounds 2009 12 total picks 4 in top 2 rounds I definately see a pattern...they average 10 picks a year over the last 7 years or so... But they only had 3 picks in the top 2 rounds total for the 2 years prior to this....I guess paying the price for a couple years can get you into a surplus mode like this. I really like the idea of making trades for future years as you always get a round higher in return... Heck...why not trade our whole damn draft for a round better next year....then next year we'd have something like 3 #1s (2nd from this year traded forward plus our 1st traded forward for 1st and 2nd) 2 #2s 1 #3 3 #4s (2 5ths from this year traded forward) 1 #5s 3 #6s (2 7ths from this year traded forward, whats a 7th worth anyways? why not?) 1 #7 There is something screwy with that valuation thing....its just no one has tried this yet....we may as well do it and go hard after free agents in this great market this year...and we could then trade some of these to forward years too...heck...anything over 10 picks is just waste anyways...they aint all gunna make the squad. We could do this in one year...it would be radical...but it just might work!
