I really don't think it's ridiculous at all.

What's ridiculous is the circus sideshow that AH was all off-season. Again, after all that you would just hand him his job back on day 1? Of course he's going to earn it back, but the point is you just don't hand the guy anything after the shit he pulled all off-season.
