Re: There's No Quarterback Controversy

I think it's funny that people will say that Jason "needs the entire offense to click to be any good." That's how 90% of the quarterbacks in the NFL work. Every one of them needs help, not necessarily from the run game, but it can also come from superior receivers.

Let's take a look at teams who don't run well:
-Arizona: Both of there starters are better than Santana Moss (head and shoulders maybe) and I'd go so far as to assert that Steve Breaston would be an upgrade over Randle El.
-Colts: No one has ever said Jason Campbell is Peyton Manning, but for the sake of argument, Wayne is better than Moss right now, Clark is more productive than Cooley, and Harrison/Gonzo are better than any 2/3 receivers the Skins have. AND, now that they're healthy they have one of the best pass protecting offensive lines in the league.
-Lions: Horrible football team.
-Bengals: Horrible football team.
-Rams: Horrible football team.

There are your bottom 5 rushing teams in the NFL. They have Qb's who I would be ecstatic if JC became, amazing receivers, great o lines, or they don't win football games. The last few games, the Skins have been a bad running team and they've seen similar results to the Lions, Bengals and Rams, a balanced offense helps win games unless you've built a passing football team. Unfortunately, the Skins never aspired to be a passing football team, so until one of the best receiving corps and a great o line walks through the door, it's a little bit tough to judge Jason Campbell.

Finally, if you think that Todd Collins would have more success in this system, with no running or pass blocking to go along with a spotty defense, you're out of your mind. No one on this team is playing well and that won't change by switching to a journeyman QB who played 4 or 5 good games.
