The WR battle is definitely the most intriguing to me as well. Seeing Jacobs in the minicamps this spring really got me juiced to see how he performs during the preseason games. McCants was nursing a shoulder injury through most of the minicamps, so Gibbs was pretty much going on what he had seen of McCants in the filmroom, but it's obvious he really likes what he saw. He also really seems to like Jacobs, and loves Thrash's veteran demeanor and work ethic.

As far as I'm concerned, Coles is really the only guy whose position on the depth chart is secure. I'm pretty confident McCants, Jacobs and Thrash will all give Gardner a pretty good run for his money, and hopefully the intensity of the competition will elevate the level of play for all involved-- including Gardner. This could be just the nudge Gardner needs to take his game to the next level.

None of the other competitions, outside of the one for QB, get me as pumped about the preseason as this one does.
