Re: Redskins Top Plays of 2005...Rank All-Time??
I was only 4 or 5 when it happened so I don't personally remember it, but the Darrell Green punt return has to go right up there with 70 Chips and Brunell to Moss # ONE (I'll get back to that in a sec) in my book.
Everytime my dad tells me about Darrell's return, how he was injured and his arm was just sort of limp but he never let up, he practically gets misty-eyed. I've seen the clip a few times but I'd love to see it again if anyone has a link. I also said the first TD vs Dallas last year because it gave me so much hope. I just remember being so bored and frustrated with that game that i was getting ready to go to bed right before that drive. When Santana made that catch and streaked in for the TD, flipped the ball to the ref, and ran back to the sidelines with the expression that he was just getting started, I had hope again. the big d-bags hadn't done anything since that god-damn flea-flicker and I knew our D would keep it that way. I really think you have to look at the lsat three minutes of that game as it's own entity because ti was so much more than just a single play; of course, the same could be said for just about every memorable play.
