I think the issue with 3rd down is when teams know when we have to pass then that's the weakness. It's a combination of the line, RG3 feeling comfortable letting plays develop/not wanting to take off running, and the wr's hanging on the the ball. We have to remember that we have a 22 year old rookie playing QB. As time goes on he will develop into a better passer. His footwork in the pocket is a little off but that will improve. He's a gym rat. But again, look at this offense from last year to this year. It's night and day.But I agee, Kyle need to ditch the pitch!

It's not all on RGIII with those 3rd down conversions and I'm not suggesting it is. It's a mix of everything. Penalties, drops, play calling, bad passes, and so on. I understand not converting a 3rd and long on a high percentage, but it's the 3rd and shorts that we don't convert that simply drive me up the wall. Kyle often times likes to get cute with a 3rd and short only for it to backfire. I've seen several of those damn pitch plays on 3rd and short which chaps my ass.

In the end, more often or not if you aren't converting 3rd downs, you most likely are going to be on the losing end of a 60 minute match. So far, I think we've had some severe breaks go our way (fumble for TD, fumble not recovered in-bounds) which have been deciding factors in our winning. You can't expect luck that good to continue though so it's better we not rely on that luck.
