New CBA rules and info (cbs sportsline):
Before counting cash, take crash course on new CBA
March 10, 2006 By Clark Judge CBS SportsLine.com Senior Writer Tell Clark your opinion! http://ad.doubleclick.net/ad/sponsor...8111142156903? One day after the NFL agreed on a new collective bargaining agreement, league general managers were left to figure out what it all means for the new cap year. Here's what they found. Free agency starts Saturday at 12:01 a.m. ET, with the salary cap jumping to $102 million this year and $109 million in 2007. That's the easy part. The fine print is what follows, and we choose only the highlights to keep it readable: http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9298153 I found this interesting; it highlights some of the new changes and rules in the new cba, but fails to mention anything about cash over cap. Now clubs can cut 2 guys a year at any time in the summer and treat their salaries like old post june 1st cuts, among other things. |
