At least Gruden is letting one rookie rise up. Davis has had a very good camp and had an excellent first PS game. If he continues to have this level of PS why wouldn’t he move into Doctson’s spot?
Same thing with Cam Sims. Cam is better than Doctson. Harmon is the #6 WR for the team.
I just don’t see the Gruden love with Doctson. If he has a great season he’s going to another team. If he has his normal season, he won’t be re-signed. There are younger, bigger, cheaper, faster and hungrier WR on the team NOW. They should be moved up over Doctson. As George Allen used to say: the future is now!

When did McLaurin become the starter over Quinn? Quinn is the only WR on the team who has been identified by the HC and WR Coach as a
lock at his position, the slot.
Of course you're correct in pointing out the futility of starting Doctson but what has Davis done to deserve that spot? He caught a TD when wide open because of a blown assignment in the first preseason game. That's it.
McLaurin should claim a starting role when Doctson fails and is either benched or cut (or has a boo-boo) or when Richardson is broken in half by a DB. JG says McLaurin is learning all three positions, so he should become a key reserve.
I think Cam Simms is a very exciting player who should get more playing time as the season goes on and he continues to improve his craft.
