Personally I dont think DS will put $1 more into that place than he thinks is absolutely necessary because he wants out of FedEx and into a new domed stadium as soon as he can the the taxpayers of DC or VA to build him one. |

Re: Field Condition
As much as I love the fact that we play in grass, it would seem to me with the type of speed we have on our team transitioning to field turf would play our team's advantage.

Re: Field Condition
I actually loved seeing that pig style playing surface at Fed Ex Field. It's pretty obvious that the people who are charged to keep the football field in decent shape failed to do just that.

Does anyone know how much artificial turf / other options cost? Would it be a one-time investment, or does it get torn up / need replacement with wear/tear? Just wondering how cheap our billionaire owner is being. Seems like he's always been willing to spend millions on players, and surprised that we've been cheap on something like this. I guess replacing the turf doesn't yield a financial benefit for him.. |

Re: Field Condition
I don't think Snyder is being cheap, it's just that the field with all its additional events now goes through more wear and tear and that needs to be accounted for

The field is just used a lot more than other football fields around the league, and I'm sure Snyder now sees that because of the wear and tear, it's just not going to hold up to that much use all year long. But, I hope he does strongly consider building in VA (even though I'm now a NC resident) because it would be a bit easier for me and a bit closer for me to get to games in NoVa as opposed to MD.

If he wants to continue hosting other events, he needs to change the surface. No way he'll give up that cash to keep the field solely for game events during the season. Hell, our stadium here at ECU has awesome grass on it during season and looks good even at the last game of the season. They could do it, but they have to choose whether they want a good safe playing surface or cash to line their pockets.

Re: Field Condition
You would think that would be something he would take into account when the management at Fed Ex field hosted all those events. It seems like pretty common sense.

Re: Field Condition
How does our field compare to the ravens? I think they have quite a few events also?

Re: Field Condition
I couldn't imagine the Redskins ever having a homefield with artificial turf.

The only other teams east of the Mississippi and north of Florida with grass fields are Cleveland and Carolina if I'm not mistaken. From a quality of play standpoint it makes sense to go to Field Turf.
