i have complete faith in cousins and am actually kind of excited to see what he does.

not even thinking about the trade value side, focused more on the redskins value side

Yeah and given RG3's situation I think all potential trade talk with KC should just be put on the shelf.

Let's see RG3 make it back healthy first, and stay that way for an entire season or two.

Only when KC is going into the last year of his rookie deal should we even think about a trade.

Players will always say they can play, even when they cant. Once a coach works with a player for a while, they learn when the player truly can go and when he is just being tough and trying not to let his teammates down. Shanahan admitted to the fact that he would second guess some of the decisions he made. I'm pretty sure that Shanahan won't take Griffin's words at face value anymore.
Said I was going to stay away, but your increased circumspection today, BHA, has made me have to comment on the above.

Another role played in all of this is young Robert's fearlessness. I think that's a chink in his armor, a flaw - I think he's fearless to a fault. Now the coach knows that.

I don't think it happens again, either.

And if I'm reading between the lines correctly of the things Robert himself has been saying since Sunday on Facebook, I think he is kicking himself, too, and maybe he's wizened up about that.

He'll be back. They will run the same offense because it's so effective, and he will learn to be more careful like he was when it was hurt.

Re: RGIII undergoing total reconstructive surgery: out 6-8 months

Figured they'd do the full ACL once they we're in there--it's obviously a concern. Do what will provide the best long-term prognosis and take the proper amount of time to rehab.

If the skins do not err on the side of caution now, then they truly are nuts. After this brouhaha, I'd be pretty amazed if he's not PUPed, just to be sure. And I am fine with that! Let's get Rak and Freddy back, get Kirk some snaps, and draft/FA well. Then, when HE'S READY, bring RGIII back into a better team. What's the friggin rush???

Not sure if this was posted, but it is more grim, and I take it, more realistic. From Keim, who I like in general:

Re: RGIII undergoing total reconstructive surgery: out 6-8 months

I tore both my ACL and my MCL (complete tears) back in 1967 before there was all of the microsurgery that they have now. Since I was never going to be a star athlete and surgery rehab back in those days could have run 2 years, I never had the reconstructive surgery. Instead, I chose to accept limits on what I could do athletically. Twenty year later I did have to have surgery because all of those loose particles and chips that are discussed in the Lehman article continued to float around in my knee and limit even basic activity. So the stuff Lehman writes about all of the other aspects of the basic joint, beyond the two ligaments themselves are very true. I sincerely hope that the Skins and Griffin are cautious going forward.

By the way, had this been ACL, MCL, and PCL..would that have been worse?

Mark S. Was talking about that on M&M this morning. He basically said the NFL will adjust and have to make it legal to lay out the QB because it's not fair to the defense. Basically he said he doubts this offense last much longer

Not a chance of that happening with the concentration on concussions. QBs are nearly untouchable now and I don't see it swinging 180 degrees.

That's what I'm thinking to. We'll see I guess
