Cool

As far as I'm concerned. Man for man, we match up with anybody in the league! No serious, obvious weak spots. Many improvments from last year. The ONLY Wild card is PR. If he excells (and we NEED him to), the team wil raise some eyebrows this year

All I'm looking for is no injuries (obviously) and a serious reduction in turnovers.

Ramsey needs to make better decisions and guys need to hang on to the damn ball.

I'd love to see a game with no injuries and run the game semi-normally so we can pull out a win instead of just playing to see how our passing game is. Portis also needs a few more reps against 1st teamers if he's going to be ready for the season.

I agree. The only backs that seemed to be able to run against us last year were the bigger ones.

I'd like to see deep accuracy from Ramsey, but more importantly, I'd like to see smart decisions. If the receiver isn't open, I'd rather see him throw it away. I'd rather punt than risk an interception.

I actually don't want to see too much of Clinton Portis. He's too valuable, I really don't want to see him get hurt. I think having him get hurt would kill us as bad as Vick's injury killed the Falcons in 2003.
Bettis did have over 100yards but I think it took him over 30 carries and most came late in the third and forth qtrs. We matched up pretty good with them last year with an offence that was just terrible. I would like to see Ramsey progress and put 10 or so points on the board and see us stretch the field and have Portis make some good yards on his few carries. The D just needs to get some presure on the QB.

Though I don't drink from the kool-aid like some of you guys (Redskins 34-10...come on, get real!)...I think it will be a close game.
My thought is that Gibbs will get the guys really keyed up for this game. He and the coaching staff will essentially see it as: "If we can beat pitt 1st string against 1st string", we've got a real shot at the playoffs this year...our formula works (although it may need some tweaks here and there)

I think it will be close, the team will rise to the challenge and play a physical game, though the give-aways (both fumbles and Ramsey INTs will be the determining factor.)

For those that say pre-season doesn't matter...you're high .

1 word: "Redskins Victory"

You heard it here first folks. I say we win this thing because we may meet them this year in the Super Bowl. So there!

I like that way of thinking....we need to have the mindset that we can beat people. We also need to trust in our quarterback....whoever he may be.

Re: Predictions for Preseaon game #3 versus the Steelers

I honestly dont even care if we win. I think we might have more depth (better 2nd/3rd string guys), so maybe we'll win. I just want to see Ramsey perform better, and our offense as a whole show some good stuff against a very good defense. I want our defense to continue to show their worth. I just want a solid game from our starters and some good stuff out of the 2nd/3rd string guys who I think can produce this season. If we win, thats gravy. So I'll go 17-14 Redskins.

Man, I wish I could say that and mean it. Our QB situation is weak, and I question our D-line play. I really don't think the Steelers will risk Bettis more than a series or two b/c last I heard Deuce was dinged up again. Here's what I expect to see, not what I hope to see:

I expect to see an offensive line that continues to open holes and protect the qb. The line looks much, much better than last year. I expect to see very little production from either team in the first half on the offensive side of the ball. The Steelers haven't gotten the ball in the endzone yet this preseason with the starting offense, and IMO Rotheliswhathisname is going to have a BIG sophomore slump this year. Im looking for 10-3 Skins at the half, with Ramsey being somewhat erratic again. I expect Brunnell to take the reigns in the third quarter and add fuel to the QB controversey, leading us to more second half pts. I expect Campbell to have average numbers in the 4th quarter. Normally I would say that Gibbs could give a rat's ass about the final score, but Gibbs is getting frustrated and the team as a whole needs a little success. I think we'll win this one 24-14.
