As has been told to me, the cap dilemma kept us from getting Cortland Finnegan. He was Defense priority #1...but they couldn't afford him and Garcon. And Garcon was FA priority #1

do you feel that the redskins would have paid him more the rams did?

and would hall still be a redskin?
what's finnegan's cap number this year? is it > cap savings from cutting hall + cap space we have now? if it's not, that leads me to believe they would have kept hall and wilson while adding finnegan.

interesting thought

Were we really serious about going after Peyton Manning? And do you think we would have been serious about going after Pay-Pay if Mara hadn't cut our cap space?

I don't really know how much they would have paid him to be honest. They shopped Hall and Barnes during the off-season. Barnes more seriously than Hall (as evidenced by them actually trading Barnes)

But I think it likely would have been Wilson and Finnegan with Hall as the nickel/slot guy

Cortlands numbers aren't that good. He would get beat often. He's just a feisty physical CB. No big loss there. But interesting none the less.

Add ten more points to both scores and I'd be inclined to agree with you :-) .

I don't think this will be a trap game if the Skins win. A lot of teams have a lot of respect for the teams offense, and by O I mean RG3 and Morris. Either way ATL are not taking the skins lightly.

I just read somewhere that he was one of the better performing DBs in the league right now. I HATE him and if he was here, I would hate him still (Deion) but he actually has played well this year.

28-24 Skins win! Field is in bad shape and should get worse. Hopefully, this will turn into a running game.
Good. I need Turner to make up for Amendola in my fantasy league

So has D Hall.

If we bring someone else in. Itll just be the next target in Redskins nation to talk about what a horrible pick hp he was because he wont perform perfectly on game day like a robot.

What are the odds...... for D. Hall getting into it with someone on the falcon's coaching staff and getting us a costly penalty?

I think that this happening is an absolute guaranteed event. The shocker would be if it doesnt

Re: Skins v Falcons predictions

I wonder if Mike Shanahan has thought about trading DeAngelo Hall. The Redskins are seemingly right back to where they were two seasons ago with the defense. Sure, we've had some injuries but over the course of the past two seasons DeAngelo Hall has given up the big play. When does he not give up the big play to an elite NFL receiver? When does Hall finally have a game where he shuts down or limits the elite receiver? He still to this day hasn't shown that he can do that. He tied a record 2 years ago for the most INTs in one game but he wasn't playing against elite receivers at all in that game.

Re: Skins v Falcons predictions

Another key to this game will be turnovers. Atlanta is + 10, we are +7. We can attribute a touchdown in each game to the defense. Atlanta picked Peyton 3 times, and Rivers and Cassell 2 times each. Griffin has been great (and lucky) with the ball. If we can avoid the turning it over, then this game is definitely winnable.
