I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Jenkins has a monster game this week and solidify's his starting role in the Okie package.

I thought we were 30th in defense?

Edit: ranked 27th from the article above.

Is that what we've been running? I thought we were turning our DL loose more to penetrate. (But I'm not really good at seeing that.)

Because of this, I think our running game will be a huge factor and take a lot of pressure off our passing attack, which has carried us the past two weeks.
I havent even noticed this... nice observation

Nice observation. I noticed Chester looking back a lot in the Rams game but i didn't notice him tapping Monty.

This is the type of game the Redskins need to win but always end up losing. We have a great chance to win this game. Offensively and defensively the Redskins match up well with the Bengals.

Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down

I'm not going to try to predict this game but I have a few points to make about it.

First, if we get Pierre Garcon back, he could make a big difference for our offense and turn the game in our favor. He is the one WR we have who can consistently beat a defense and who can force the Bengals to cheat a little in coverage and get out of position.

Second, why would any Redskins fan who's been paying attention think that playing at home will be to our advantage? Inexplicably, the Skins have not necessarily played well at Fedex. Our home field should be intimidating to our opponents and inspiring to our team but it's not. Maybe RGIII will help to change that.

Third, the Bengals are expecting trick plays and QB runs. That's good. Let that threat be in the backs of their minds. But I think the Skins could and should just beat them the old fashioned way by pounding them with the run and then hitting them with some big pass plays when the Bengals safeties start to cheat up a little.

Last, I think that it is risky and irresponsible of the Shanahans to call a lot of designed runs for RGIII. I have no problem with the standard QB stuff (draws, sneaks, and rollouts) when appropriate but they are going to get him hurt if they are not more careful with him. He has a great arm so let him use it! The best use of his speed and athleticism is for him to extend plays to allow his receivers more time to get open downfield. This is a game we should be able to win without exposing RGIII to a lot of unnecessary hits.

Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down

^ trick plays? I dont know if zone reads, bootleg are trick plays, but i dont think Shanny and Kyle will not remove them from an offense that has performed well the last couple weeks.

Here is a perspective on matchup to watch:https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...dskins-week-3/

Cincy has given up a 5.5 yard per carry avg folks. If we cant run the ball against that....And given a 119 passer rating avg against and 9.4 y per attempt for passing. This is against Philly (decent) and Cleveland (below avg) offenses.

I think our defense does better against stand up, straight ahead power running backs, so we should be decent againt the lawyer firm. I pray Haslett mans up Josh Wilson on AJ Green all day long. I worry about J Gersham match up.

this could be a shoot out

Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down

Given those numbers Chico the offense should have a field day. RG III is leading the league in YPA and he is in the top four in passer rating.

Our ground game has been a beast and if we can just get some defense to show up we have a good chance at winning this game.

As to the point of FedEx not giving the team a geat advantage, I will say this. I live in Charleston, SC and I am planning on attending a couple of games this year with the first being the Falcons game in a couple of weeks. Why? Because you want to be there to see this guy live. I would imagine with all the hype (which is well deserved to this point) surrounding our QB, and a fan base who has been waiting years to see a qb like this FedEx will be a deafening place for opposing offenses to work very soon and a nice quiet atmosphere for the offense to do work.

I can tell you this, with this new guy we have alot more respect from other teams fans, and RG III is scaring alot of the other NFC East teams fans. I know plenty of guys who route for our division mates then root for the Skins and these guys are scared. A but off topic but I had a Dallas fan (my neighbor) come up to me after the Saints game and tell me it was between us and the 9ers for the NFC this year. I told him he was crazy and it was WAAAYY to early for that sentiment, but it did feel good to have that said to me in a completely serious tone.

Re: Bengals @ Redskins: Lets Break it Down

The Redskins need to pound the ball with Morris early and often. The Bengals have excellent play makers on defense. They also have a few players who like to hit. If Morris can get some early carries and gain some yardage, it would take pressure from off of RG3. This will open up the play action pass. It would also be interesting to see Kyle Shanahan call a few trick plays involving Griffin III.

This isn't a good sign.

Grant Paulsen ‏@granthpaulsen

Pierre Garcon declined to speak about his injured foot. He's unlikely to play on Sunday against the #Bengals.
