R. White developed his "trade-mark" swim move b/c it worked for him. It fit White's abilities and his style of play. White did other moves, but they all came from his power and less from his speed. The man was a bull rusher first and foremost and his swim and spins worked from that. Rak's physicality is different (White=pure overwhelming power; Rak=power/speed) from that of White's so a "Patented R.White" swim move may not be what works for him - that doesn't mean he isn't looking to develop (as R.White did) things that play to his strengths and help him be a better pass rusher.

The big difference here JR is that Reggie White was 300lbs (maybe more) compared to Orakpo's 260 lbs. Reggie could bowl guys over with his size and speed combo which is something Orakpo simply cannot do. Reggie also had the speed to beat guys on the outside to, and the strength to use his hands to get leverage to make a move inside. Orakpo has to beat them with his speed or he's going to be neutralized, and this usually ends up with the tackle locking him in and driving him out. I don't think the NFL has seen a DE the likes of Reggie White since his retirement. People want to talk about freak athletes, that's one. No way a man that big should have that sort of speed and strength...lol Downright unfair.

This was one of Reggie's 3 sacks in the Super Bowl.

Veteran CB DeAngelo Hall got into a skirmish with rookie LT Tom Compton, of all people. Hall flared to the sideline in pursuit of a screen pass. Compton pushed him in the back, a clear penalty. Hall was not happy with that, and he grabbed Compton’s facemask to tell him so. I can only guess Hall’s message was something like:

“Dear kind sir, I insist that you cease, as your actions could be injurious.”

Compton shoved Hall, prompting coach Mike Shanahan to crack the whip. “Hey, you guys, cut it out!” he shouted.
This made me laugh

I'm a big Tom Compton fan now.

Any rookie who rustles the jimmies of a hothead like D-Hall in camp is someone we want on our team.

Many do. I liked the exchange from him and Mike.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread-Fan Appreciation Day Thoughts

Here's some of my 200 pics I took on Fan Appreciation Day.

First, they came out:

Best photograph of the day, quality-wise (yes, talking photo quality):

^ OH, and I caught one of those shirts...I'm 2/2 in getting shirts from cheerleaders in my 2 trips down now!

My son...he was very happy here:

My view of the practice wasn't as good as my endzone spot last time I went.

This was my view most of the time during the action, behind the player bench.

You're right, I won't argue with that fact.

We had our 1-year old daughter there too, again, cute like mommy.

I have a photo of me and her with the Hogettes (yeah, those guys!) but I won't break the forum with my face.

Man, the forum makes the picture look weird when it shrinks them. I had an awesome view and plenty of action shots two years ago. We didn't get the same spot this time, we were on the far sideline of the second, far field where the defense practices. They moved us over the the edge of the first field near the end for 11-on-11 but the players' backs were blocking my view of the action.

Still had a great time though!

Were you over on the Defensive side/far side by the forest? It looks like you got these shots when they pulled the ropes in during the 11-on-11 drills. Either way, you got some excellent shots. Well done.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread-Fan Appreciation Day Thoughts

Yep, since we had the baby with us, we went to where there was shade, at the forest side like you said.

When they pulled the ropes over, my son and I went. Those shots with Morgan and Gomes in the rope drills, that was less than 10 feet in front of us. We were about 10-15 yards down from the water cooler that RGIII kept going to.

All we could see during the fights were a big mess of bodies running in to break it up. Looked like Cofield was playing enforcer since he's the biggest.

I'm not worried about RGIII's durability after seeing him in person. He looks small on TV but in person, he's actually pretty tall and check out his arms in those pictures I took, you can see the veins bulging out like the Hulk. He's a strong guy. He'll be fine.
