We all hope that Hankerson develops into a solid NFL WR. But at this juncture to say that Hankerson is better then Moss and Armstrong is more then a bit premature. Even though his season was truncated due to injury; he couldn't crack the starting line-up until week 7 and didn't have an impact til week 10. Let's not use last year as a referendum on Moss abilities especially considering the dude broke his hand which is kinda important for a WR. In 2010 just one short season ago a healthy Moss put up these numbers: 93 catches for 1115 yards both top 10 numbers. |

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW
I think this wide receiver free agent class is mostly fools gold, though I have a hard time shooting holes in the idea that Stevie Johnson would be a bad investment for any team. He's 26 and runs routes like he's been in the league for eight years.
The best value on the market is probably Randy Moss. There's up to 10 guys who are going to get more on the FA market then him, but there's not yet 20 guys in the league who are better receivers than Randy Moss.

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW
Quick question.... when was the last time an offensive player "ripped players heads off"? Especially a WR?
Randy Moss says he’s “coming to tear somebody’s heads off, man” | ProFootballTalk DL- yes. CB- yes. FS/SS- yes. WR- uh... no. |

Then again we don't really know what Seattle is going to do. They could easily draft Tannehill, Osweiler, maybe even Foles from their spot at 11 or 12. I say this because they drafted a 3rd round prospect last year 25th overall in James Carpenter.

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW
Not much of a surprise here, but here is Shefter saying Bowe will likely get the franchise tag.

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW
According to the Washington Post Hankerson had surgery to repar a torn labrum in his hip last Tuesday. He expects to be ready for training camp...one can only hope.
All in all, not good news, and it makes getting a top wide receiver even more important for us. |

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW
At WR I think we need to add at least two. We need some depth once a guy goes down with injury which is bound to happen. I am still into adding Eddie Royal as well.

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW
I dont want to see any ex colt player beside Peyton IF we were to sign him. No Reggie Wayne, hes old, weve seen that before. I want us to hit them with something theyve never seen.
But regardless if its Manning, RGIII, Luck, whoever... I do want us to SIGN VJAX... he really is the best WR available and hed make such an impact.

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW
I am not a fan of the redskins but i have gotten to know the team very well because of a mock draft game I play on my teams board.
I do not think Reggie Wayne is a good fit as a redskin his best days are behind him and he just doesnt seem like he would fit. Vincent jackson is a guy who needs a lot of touches to be happy and could clash with Shanahan. Stevie Johnson would probably be the best choice if he hits the market. Once I get my 10 posts ill show you guys what I did what the Redskins in that mock draft type game. |

Re: FA WR in Vjax and RW
Well if we trade up for RGIII then we might as well forget a decent WR in the draft. Hopefully we can pick up a qualified WR in FA. Here is some news on that end though...
Redskins hoping to address receiver position in free agency Quote:
