Re: 2012 Free Agency Wish List
I really want us to focus on WR first, CB next and then OL. I'm on record for thinking we have among the worst WR groups in the NFL with only one (Hankerson) potential playmaker in the group. I'd love to see us very aggressive in free agency to address this. Love Colston's talent, don't care for his injury history, love D-Jax speed but not his attitude, love Bowe in the red zone but not his speed/concentration all the time.
Dream free agency would be Colston, Royal, Grimes (CB) and maybe an OL. On the OL I hope we focus on center. I'm ok with the rest of the line (but with a healthy Brown or a drafted replacement) and don't think it's nearly as bad as we are conditioned to believe it is.

Re: 2012 Free Agency Wish List
Offense - Ben Grubbs because Carl Nicks is likely going to cost to much for a guard and maybe a little too big for ZBS. Definitely Chris Meyers - a Shanny oline guy and yeah he's 31 but this team is younger. I don't think any of the big WR's are attainable either by FT or bidding wars, maybe Meechum - Eddie Royal could fill 2 roster spots, one being a Banks replacement and possible slot (Moss).
Defense: I'd like to see us bring in another CB, like Brandon Carr and we're going to have to find a Carriker replacement. He isn't going to give us a hometown discount. Thinking maybe Calais Campbell.

Re: 2012 Free Agency Wish List
I really am not a fan at all of free agency, and the few guys I've named in my post of who I wouldn't mind getting, aren't even linked to the skins or won't come here...ahhh

Ha! Mostly, yes. He must particularly be mad about all the lost revenue from former Skins fans from Maryland that have defected to the Ravens over the years.

Correct. The newer generation coming up in the DC/Maryland area will be Raven fans due to the fact they are a winner. I think as kids, we tend to pick the winners early on and that's how we become fans. (or it's inherited via family)

Re: 2012 Free Agency Wish List
Ravens are easy to attract relatively because you can convince them they don't need to uproot their families

Re: 2012 Free Agency Wish List
If we have a pro level WR core there is no need to keep 8 guys again this year. I could see us keeping 5 or 6 at most.
If we bring in Colston and Royal; then we go into next year with Colston, Gaffney, Hankerson, Royal, and Moss. Add another rookie and there you go. No need for 8 WR again.

Re: 2012 Free Agency Wish List
Wow, just looking at the new revenue sharing for 2012. New TV contracts ($3 bil) kick in, that's $1.1 bil more than the year before.
With $19 million per year per team plus add that to the fact that teams will be able to add unspent 2011 cap dollars to their 2012 salary caps ($13.6 mil for Skins) and we will see some record deals for top players and very pricey contracts for average players.

Re: 2012 Free Agency Wish List
We need playmakers. I see no reason why we should sign run-of-the-mill WR's in FA. We already have enough of that type. For me, it's VJax, Bowe, or bust.
I would make an exception for Eddie Royal because of his versatility (KR/PR) and his record of success with MS as his HC. Last edited by KI Skins Fan; 01-30-2012 at 08:56 AM. |
