First of all, he was a big-time basketball prospect out of high school and chose to pursue a basketball career at Rutgers University. After one year there, he transferred to Butler Community College (a JUCO), changing course and playing football at Defensive End.

While there in 2007, the guy went nuts, becoming National JUCO Player of the Year... recording 24.5 sacks (led nation), 6 forced fumbles (led nation), 97 tackles, 39 of which were behind the line of scrimmage. The team went 12-0 and won the JUCO National Championship as well.

He then transferred to Florida State where he played 2 years before we drafted him. He got 8.5 sacks and 12.5 tackles for a loss his senior year there.

Clearly he has a ton of potential. It's amazing that the guy went from a D-1 basketball player, learning Defensive End QUICKLY at a JUCO, transferring to one of the nations top football programs, starts for them 2 years later, then gets drafted to play LINEBACKER in the NFL, where he just made it through final cuts and made the 53-man roster.

Pretty cool stuff... maybe he can be the Antonio Gates of defense... haha
Wow! I didn't know that. Pretty impressive stuff. What a great story.

It's kind of like when a sofa is left out in a college town. If you don't already have one you can only be so picky.

He's kind of like the opposite of King Midas, playoff wise, everything he touches turns to s**t.

Well said ..... i hope the NY JETS sack Romo 7-8 times and hold them to under 17 pts Sunday night ! To see that look of shock on JJ's face if they are losing say 27 - 10 at the 2 min warning .....priceless !

Nice forum, guys. I'm a Lions fan located in the DMV -- I work in DC. Skins have been pretty impressive in PS. Lions picked up K Williams RB from the Skins as a power compliment to Best's outside speed (and as stop gap 'til Leshoure recovers from a popped Achilles'). Any thoughts on this guy? Please someone tell me you're sorry to lose him! Thanks!

Keiland is alright. Not sure I'd call him a "power" back though. He's a pretty solid and versatile guy. Nothing flashy or special, but not someone that will hurt you either.

I'll echo Matty's sentiment on this one. I don't think of K.Will as a power back, both Torain and Hightower are more of a banger than he is. He's got good hands, he's solid and hardworking, not particularly fast or particularly strong, but he gives good effort. Dare I say average? He's got some things going for him, but he's not gonna make you want to push him up the depth chart. I'm not going to miss him, but only because I am way more excited with Hightower, Helu, and Torain, than I was with him. I'd call him serviceable.

Solid rotational guy, wont break away but will give good effort, can catch out of the backfield

I lived in Warren during the season 2 years ago

Keiland has good hands. I think he's ok in a third down back sort of role.

The #Redskins signed NT Chris Baker to the practice squad. He spent last season with the #Dolphins.
