REALLY liked the Hightower int. Well spoken, smart guy....Cool

Can't think of a better opponent to see how we are going to fare this upcoming season. The Ravens D looked in mid-season form against the Chiefs last week.

During his 8/22 press interview, Beck mentioned that the Ravens will be a very good measuring stick for the team as a whole because of their intensity. Interested in seeing how they do.

I'm not surprised because it seems to me like the Skins are playing these games like regular season games. Not as much as when OBC was here but still they arent holding anything back.

This.

If we move the ball well against the Ravens my expectations for this season will officially have been changed dramatically.

Even if we struggle my eyes have been opened. We are getting better fast.

I don't want to just "move the ball." I want to SCORE TOUCHDOWNS. Tired of getting to the 10 yard line and TW giving up a sack. If we win on 5 field goals, we haven't fixed our main problem.

The difference between the top teams and bottom teams is slim. We tend to lose games by less than 3 pts -- Last year we had 12 games decided by less than a touchdown, and NINE games by a field goal or less. Our defense could get us closer this year, but we still need to score TDs. Can't remember the last time we were blowing the other team away and I wasn't on the edge of my seat in the 4th quarter... Our largest margin of victory last year? The first game, by 6 points.

Don't get me wrong - I've loved our moves - good young players. Good showing so far in preseason, but it's simple - we definitely need to score touchdowns to win.

Re: Skins leading the NFL in total offense & defense

I know some of you are saying its only preseason....but outside of Gibbs and Spurrier, preseason performance has been a pretty good indicator of the season in the last 10 years or so...and even Gibbs to some extent....the weaknesses in preseason generally rolled into the regular season.
I do agree that this next game is key...no way do I think the skins will have the top offense and defense in the regular season....however....this team has seen few glaring weaknesses....outside of red zone, and a QB who sometimes throws 10 yard inside bullets to linebackers. The oline sometimes gets pushed back...which could hurt in short yardage and goal line....and I am unsure about our CBs...but boy, I feel far more comfortable at this point than any point probably back to Spurrier, when we were all duped.
Except this time, performance in preseason will very likely translate well to the regular season...it is not about points....in preseason, it is about how the team generally performs and so far, most of us are quite impressed

Re: Skins leading the NFL in total offense & defense

We are building, and what we are seeing is a team that is building in the right direction. I do like what I see, but the last couple of years have toned down the way I view the preseason. I think we are all more happy to be watching football, and thinking that our team looks awesome. It's just that we haven't seen them in a while. I'm hoping for the best though.
