Re: Meet The Candidates: 2012 GOP Thread
I remember when Palin was selected as the VP running mate and some of the Republicans on this board were convinced with that selection they were the front runners for the oval office.
The moment Palin was selected there was no just chance in a general election. The same truth holds true for Bachman and Perry. They are FAR FAR FAR to right of center. And Bachman is just a straight up lunatic. So that also hurts her chances. |

Re: Meet The Candidates: 2012 GOP Thread
I love the quote about his dad J
Technically, Perry’s first job as an adult was selling encyclopedias and bibles door-to-door over the summer of the early 70s, while still studying in A&M. He would recount later, “There is nothing that tests your commitment to a goal like getting a few doors closed in your face”. Perry enlisted with the United States Air Force after graduating in 1972, rising to the rank of Captain in a five-year career. During his time with the Air Force, he flew the military transport aircraft C-130 to far-flung corners of the world, including the hotspots of Central America, North Africa and Europe. Soon after leaving the Air Force, Perry was accepted to join Southwest Airlines’ pilot-training program. However, he changed his mind and returnedhome to work in the farm following a conversation with his father. “Dad still thought I was there to do chores. I reminded him that I had just finished commanding a multimillion-dollar piece of government equipment and a number of grown men. He reminded me that the chores still needed tending to." |

Re: Meet The Candidates: 2012 GOP Thread
Saw that Michele Bachmann is claiming that she would bring back $2.00 gasoline and pointed out that gas was $1.79 when Obama took office and is close to $4.00 right now.
Bachmann: I'll bring back $2 gas - Aug. 18, 2011 I don't think she understands how supply and demand works

Re: Meet The Candidates: 2012 GOP Thread
you're kidding right -- just because no one has said it doesn't mean that neocons like Bachmann, Perry, Cain etc. wouldn't go to war with Iran if they could. Cain has straight up said that he wouldn't have a Muslim in his cabinet. If you don't think those three are racist you are deluding yourself.

Re: Meet The Candidates: 2012 GOP Thread
Where did I explicitly say Islam was a race? would you like me to clarify and say that Cain is a religious bigot?

Re: Meet The Candidates: 2012 GOP Thread
I didn't realize Bachmann, Perry, and Cain were the same person. Cain's thoughts don't speak for all the candidates

Well, if you're right of center then you simply must be insane and unelectable so they may as well all be the same.

Re: Meet The Candidates: 2012 GOP Thread
Haha, wow didn't know I'd stir up all this trouble -- I'm actually a big supporter of Ron Paul and I think that some of his ideas (not all) are really good. But, you're right if I have a problem against this woman:
Bachmann: "Not All Cultures Are Equal" - YouTube then I think anyone right of center is a crazy, unelectable neocon.

Re: Meet The Candidates: 2012 GOP Thread
Paul and Johnson are the only ones that offer a platform that is fundamentally different from what we are getting now under Obama, and what we got with Bush and any other post JFK president. Sadly, they are being all but ignored by the main stream media. Johnson is virtually dead already, and Paul, who finished well ahead of Romney in the Iowa straw poll isn't even considered a contender!!! The elites just want another corporate hack, a puppet on the string that will give them more tax cuts, more war, and more power.
