What I hear is that Mike Kafka is running with the second team more than Vince Young is for the moment. Young's accuracy has been "less than acceptable" so far...

McCoy gets a lot of his value (which, I don't think people realize that he's already like a top five back in total value/yards from scrimmage) from being the third option for defenses, but he's typically the one delivering the knockout blow.

As for Vick, Maclin, and Jackson, they're all really good players, but each one is probably flawed: Jackson doesn't always adjust to the ball while it's in the air and his hands aren't great, Maclin isn't and will never be a yards after catch guy, and Vick is injury prone and is terrible with pressure on him. Which is why teams do nothing but blitz him: if you're 50-50 to bring him down at any point, you might as well pick the backfield to take that risk. His career sack rate suggests as much. Any quarterback who gets blitzed as much as he does will look good numbers-wise (YPA) b/c of fewer defenders in coverage, it's just how you have to play him because of his skill set.

All three of those guys had good years last year. If they all have career average years in 2011, they'll look something like this:

Vick: 3,100 yards on 450 attempts, 23 TDs, 12 INTs, + 580 age adjusted rushing yards and 42 (!) sacks in 14 games (86.7 ancient QB rating)

Maclin: 63 receptions for 863 receiving yards, 7 receiving TDs
Jackson: 52 receptions for 936 receiving yards, 5 receiving TDs + 100 rushing yards

Yards of Total offense (rushing + receiving) for Maclin, Jackson, Vick: 2479

Those are my projections for the Eagles offense. To me, they're not all that high powered. It's far more exciting than watching the Chiefs, but the production is about the same.

Just so I can calibrate your skepticism here, do you think that either Michael Vick, or DeSean Jackson or Jeremy Maclin could make the Redskins' squad? Or possibly be a starter for the Skins?

New York Giants' Pat Hanlon spokesman on critical fan: 'Knucklehead' - ESPN New York

Man its nice to sit back and just watch the other circuses around the league and not be involved. Twitter, the gift that keeps on giving.

omg I love this guy...

Quote:
a fan tweeted: "Can you say definitively the Giants are better than last year?"

Hanlon's reply: "Can you say we're worse, knucklehead?"
Quote:
Another fan tweeted: "All teams need to rebuild at one point, I'm not going to panic until the season begins." To which Hanlon says: "Re-build my ass! I got your re-build."
Quote:
To this tweet from a fan: "Giants off-season can be summed up w/ one word: Debacle," Hanlon responds: "Thanks Lombardi. Cause I know you know."

This is great. We usually get to play two regular season games before people tell us we aren't worth a shit.

No. They'd be buried here behind John Beck and Jabar Gaffney. If Shanahan does it, it's always right.

His Twitter account got hacked.

But seriously, I like the way Hanlon is taking to Twitter. Keep it coming man! Less national eyes on us and less attention on that groundbreaking news story, titled,"Potential starting quarterback is confident about team around him; thinks team will win division."

When the FO starts getting involved with unhappy fans on Twitter, 9 times outta 10 its gonna be epic fail. I hope the Giants FO keep it up.

Just imagine Vinny here a couple years ago and he had a twitter up and rolling...wow that just woulda been classic. The FO was already such an epic fail, little to no damage was left to do.

It was the NY doctors that did the surgery.....now who do you think would know more about the injury? What is it if he doesn't get back on the field....or he does and blows out the knee again?

I read he gets 2 mil guaranteed on that 1yr/4mil contract he signed. Sounds like a win-win to me.

How what? If he doesn't play a down, he's still going to get 2 mil. I'd call that a huge win.
