I'll take the one that can catch and doesn't want to play for the Cowboys.

Carlson is one of like 10 holdovers from the Holmgren days, which both means that he's good enough to survive this long, but also that he's replaceable.
Point made

Why is "can catch" an attribute for cornerbacks that arises only in discussions about Carlos Rogers? You never hear how much better at catching the ball Nate Clements is over Ike Taylor, even though that's unquestionably true.

I'm hoping that this would be the year we get to see Barnes playing alot

Because you need turnovers. A corner who can intercept is a huge plus. Ike Taylor does have shaky hands, true, but Ike can cover. Carlos cant cover as well as Ike. Like Cris Collinsworth said "If Carlos Rodgers had hands he'd be in the pro bowl every year." He doesn't so he's a little wanted corner who will blow a coverage every now and then and doesn't get your team picks/turnovers.

You're stretching to draw a distinction between Ike Taylor and Carlos Rogers where one doesn't exist. I respect your opinion that Ike is better, but either hands are a deal-breaking attribute for a corner, or they aren't. There cannot be a world where Ike Taylor is a highly valued cover corner and Carlos Rogers is totally unwanted.

Ike has better hands than Carlos. I thought I mentioned that already. Ike has 11 career picks, plus 3 more in the playoffs. Carlos has 8. Ike is a more physical corner the Los. Ike is taller and faster than Los. The point here I'm making is that when the games on the line and you have Peyton Manning going against Ike or Rogers, he's going to pick on Rogers. Sometimes the stats won't show what people see in games.

In a way, that "can catch" discussion is a backhanded compliment of Rogers. If he couldn't cover, that is what people would talk about.

I...don't think you got the point, but if it makes you feel better I don't overtly disagree with anything you've written here.

Yeah. Hall's hands arent that great either, but no one ever talks about that because 1) Rogers, 2) He doesn't cover well, and 3) he's absolute money on INT returns, and thats what sticks out in people's mind.

DHall has hands. In one game he intercepted a QB 4 times. Thats half of carlos's career in one game (8).

Why do people hate on HALL? I really have no idea how our best playmaker on D gets so much hate

Welcome to the Warpath, the gathering point of all pessimistic Redskins fans. We hate our great players and root for those who had no chance to even make the team.

Previous targets were Landry, Portis, Sean Taylor, Joe Gibbs and Jesus.

And I beleive it wasn't in that order.
