I am getting my numbers from Rick Maese. Most are saying the 30 Mil

Re: Redskins sign DE Stephen Bowen

I should point out that the youth of Bowen and Cofield trumps all other arguments. They'll be premier players for us between now and 2013. If our current coaches can't play a scheme that wins a bunch of games with these guys, we'll bring in other coaches who might be able to.

So signing good young players, never a problem. Signing them to big money deals, eh, good organizations typically do it more judiciously, but this is crazy money time. That's why Stephen Bowen gets poached at more than $5 mil per year.

Josh Wilson's contract was, what, 3 years, 13.5 mil? That is a good contract for a young player. Bowen doubled that.

$17 mil, $30 mil, whatever. It's a lot of money to spend.

I'd rather pay Bowen than AH.

Gotta pay a little more to pry away a guy that the Cowboys really wanted to keep.

Pass on NA, "Pretty please on Franklin", and "Please, please, please, I'll never ask for anything else again ever I promise, promise, promise, please please please" on Joseph (I have a 4 and 8 year old - can you tell?).

And the Bears were throwing dough at him too. I wonder if it was strictly money why he came here. I'm sure the Dallas was within striking distance of what we gave him.

Not sure how. Dallas is in the running for NA and C. Jenkins as well. They probably banked on him taking less.

Dallas is not in the running for NA. It's down to the Texans and Jets...with the Texans having the financial (cap) advantage.

Cullen Jenkins is a possibility for them, but they're in competition with Denver and New Orleans.

Just going on a few reports I've seen. Those three (and 49ers) were discussed. I have a feeling he'll end up with the Jets after it's all said and done. That is unless he's strictly after the cash.

The Jets are going to be tough to pass on when we play them in the superbowl. Hopefully our 14 new players to play the front 7 just holds them to a shutout!

Positive thinking I like it. Can't wait for season predictions.

Re: Redskins sign DE Stephen Bowen

Cullen Jenkins would have been even more expensive. To me it seems like they went after C. Jenkins the price tag was a little too high and they dropped down to the next best option.

We now have a former Cowboy and former Giant on our D-Line, that can only help.
