Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start

Gotta love it. With this huge mess created by Jerruh and the NFL, wonder how long it'll be before the SB goes back to Dallas?

Seriously though I'd be pissed as hell if I were one of those fans too. The NFL royally screwed up on this one, I wouldn't be suprised if this was an extremely short trial and the NFL just made a settlement to avoid it even going to trial. I can't believe the Cowboys had a month to prepare the stadium for the SB and they couldn't even get the seats ready.

If I was Goodell, Id be sooooooo pissed at the Cowboy organization. The focus should be now on getting a labor deal done and now he has to deal with this nightmare. Its a flat out embarressment for the league

I said it before, and I hate defending JJ, but the NFL is mainly responsible for the seat fiasco. They take over the stadium and preparations and the owner organization mainly sits on the sidelines, or provides them with appropriate contacts. Now, JJ probably pushed hard to have those seats sold, and he should not have, but the NFL is the main responsible party in this situation.

On the other hand, a leaking roof would fall under JJ's domain

The last game played in that stadium was on Dec 19th so they almost had two months.

I have to respectfully disagree with this. Of course a local newspaper is helping to do some damage control for Jerry.
I manage an arena and I have local fire marshall approval for all of the extra seating options in my arena. In the odd chance there is a set up that we had not thought of and do not have Fire Marshall approval, Rule #1 in any arena, DO NOT sell any tickets until AFTER Fire Marshall signs off on the drawings of the proposed extra seating layout. That is Stadium Management 101 stuff, bush league.
Plus the the people that run the stadium are on first name basis with local Fire Marshalls, not the NFL. The arena management should have had approval months ago.
You throw in the major blunder of not building a motorized height adjustable center screen that is the biggest in creation and you have some major/expensive blunders at that building. Someone is going to lose their job.

I heard on ESPN NFL show today that in the negotiations NFL with players union, the owners are complaining about increased operating costs. When the NFL pays $500,000 to have the F16's do a fly by during the terribly performed national anthem, where the roof is closed and couldn't see the planes. You have to question the NFL leadership as well. So much money is flushed down the toilet.

We all know that getting laid with girls in Vegas is more important than logistics for Jerruh.

Ok, but its a non-issue on a 1.3 BILLION dollar stadium that is less then 2 years old. AND its Jerry Jones stadium. So I can still find room to laugh about it.

Apparently the Cowboys, not the NFL, are significantly to blame for Ticketgate. They also screwed over their own fan base, not because of technical difficulties with temporary bleachers, but because of a greedy desire to set an attendance record.

I wanted to puke. I knew it would be painful to listen to when I saw who was coming out to sing, but I could not have imagined it would be THAT bad. It was down there with Rosanne Barr's attempt, no joking.

HOWEVER...great job by the NFL with the Declaration of Independence presentation (which happened to be on President Reagan's 100th birthday). Great to see Coach Gibbs and Donovan on there along with Colin Powell. We could tell that Jerry had no hand in that production, it went well.
The singing of the NA preluding most sporting events has become a spectacle of one-up man ship to determine who can offer the better rendition.

Since Whitney Houston & Marvin Gaye offered their versions, the chase has been on.

Roseanne now thinks her offering was stellar.

Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start

Funny thing is when I started this thread I thought we would get a quick laugh at a few things going wrong for JJ and Dallas hosting the SB. I did not have any idea that things would get this bad for them. Can someone add "And Finish" to my thread title. LOL

The 2010/2011 season will be one for the Cowboys to remember for a long time.

Re: Jerry Jones Super Bowl Off To A Rough Start

Now the truly dark side: Jerry Jones was willing to put fans in unsafe seats.
