Well said, I agree with you 99.95%. Keep in mind that Lott was a CB in college and moved to safety in the NFL. He could be a solid nickle with Taylor and Bowen at safety. Keep Springs at one side and let Jimoh and Brown duke it out at the other side. We would still have depth at CB, FS, and SS.

Lavar will be HUGE this season as he had to endure a season on the bench. Lavar loves to play football & will be primed for his return in '05.

i agree with you there. i think we should start sean taylor and pierson proleau at safety, and put bowen, lott, and any other capable starters at cornerback. we would be fine even in smoot's absence. joe gibbs even said that garnell wilds was the fastest man on the team, and he covered randy moss.

Re: Comeback Redskin of 2005

Jansen's injury last summer was the single worst thing to happen to the Redskins team INCLUDING the arrival of and the playing time given to a washed-up Mark Brunell.

If Jansen plays in 2005 at 90% or better of what he was in 2003, this will be the best thing that will happen to the Redskins in 2005.

Last year, the blocking by tight ends and h-backs and running backs had to worry about what was coming at them from the left side and the right side and up the gut. With Jansen playing well - and Thomas playing as he usually does, most of the focus of these secndary blockers can be on the left side and up the gut. That will be a tremendous step forward for those players!

You feeling OK? That was uncharacteristically positive.

Third, I still STRONGLY believe that Ramsey has enormous potential. Give the guy a good coaching staff (which he has), a good offensive line (which he'll have with Rabach and Jansen), a good running back (which he has with Portis), and decent wideouts and any quarterback will look decent. For those reasons, I think Ramsey will shine.

You Ramsey-jock sniffers are hillarious. Your hero hasn't proven jack nor shown jack. He has gotten chance after chance and still his win-loss record is putrid.

But you losers will keep making up excuses for him.

Draft Leinart.

Malcom:

Thank you for your concern. I'm feeling perfectly fine.

Actually, most of my posts here try to deal with what I see as the reality of the situation with regard to the Washington Redskins and the NFL in general. Compared to the prevailing tone here of looking at the world through rose colored glasses - with burgundy and gold frames of course - I come off sounding "negative".

For example, when I criticized the Skins' WR corps last year, I was told that the Skins had WRs that were in the top 3 of the league. It's fine to want that to be true, but when I took a look at the end of the season and did a realistic check, I don't think that was the case. :vomit-smi

But I'm feeling just fine here in Curmudgeon Central. I might have an obligation to offer some contrary remarks if anyone here decides to say that the most important comeback for a Redskin in 2005 would be Rock Cartwright or Sultan McCullough. But so far, we seem not to have anyone in danger of treading into that uncharted terriroty!

I normally take your posts with a grain of salt. I always like to hear dissenting opinions (ex. Shane), but there is always one person who needs to point out the things that a lot of us choose to ignore or do not see.

You are that person in most cases, hence the reason I'm always entertained to see when the last post was by you and a number of other people on here I highly respect (I'm not going to list, for fear of forgetting someone).

Speaking of a Sultan McCullough comeback...

When the hell is he going to take his place as the #1 back?

Kids are home from school, we get the occasional idiot. They never last long and if they get no attention they are gone even faster.

Re: Comeback Redskin of 2005

When Jansen went down I knew our entire season was in the toilet. He will make the most difference.

Peolpe say they were suprised that our D played so well without Arrington but when you consider that we were without our 2 best defensive players from the previous year (Arrington and Bailey) it makes what G.W. did that much more impressive!

I think Bowen is a scrappy player but I don't think he will cut it at C.B. (and I hope we never have to find out) and as for his blitzing ability that keeps being mentioned, I may be wrong but I believe that the 2 sacks he got in week 1 last year are the only 2 of his career.

It will be good to have all of them back and I hope they all have career years!!!!!!!
