Back to 2008. Ngata vs. Shaun Rogers. Basically, it seemed that the plan was to tire out the NT. Rogers tired out near the end of the game, Ngata did not.

Both of those guys are head and shoulders ahead of our NTs. Ngata is one of the best d-linemen in football and Rogers is up there too.

The guy didn't forget how to play. yeah his attitude has sucked, and I was pissed just the same as everyone else. But like I said previously, he is the most talented big man up front we have, and according to MOST if not ALL of the NFL people one of the most talented in all the NFL. I just think it is more personal than anything else right now. We all know that if they put him on the end and let him play the DE position everyone would be happy. But they keep lining him up at NT just to piss him off. You can't tell me that he isn't better than Gholston, better than Adam Cariker, Better than Holliday....come on lets get real. He is better than all those dudes and you know it. They players are getting tired of all the shit too. McNabb, Cooley, Daniels, all leaders of the team are stepping up for Albert, saying they are behind him 100%. Far cry from what everyone was saying during the offseason.
......yeah right. So tired of people saying this cause it's anything but the truth. AH missed 4 games and a lot of those sacks came when his out of shape ass wasn't on the field.

That is your opinion. Fact is when he was on the field whether it was Tennessee or Washington the DE had more sacks. That sir is a fact. Go look it up. Andre Carter never had 11 sacks in one season. And to point another fact out, AH played the 2nd most snaps along the D-line than anyone on the team. Carter having played the most. So, make sure you have facts, not opinions here.

With AH at end, always shooting the B gap, you'd have to keep a LB responsible for the C gap on every play, which kinda defeats the purpose of the 3-4 IMO. In the end, you have to have linemen that will play 2 gap when needed, and AH won't, so moving him to DE doesn't help the situation.
You know, i just dont understand why this keeps coming up. Like I previously stated, if Haslett or the D line coach didn't want him doing the gaps, then why the hell did he continue to play?? it doesn't make much sense if you ask me. If he continued to do the wrong thing over and over, then he would have been taken out. Obviously he was doing what coaches wanted him to do.

Carter had 12.5 sacks in 2002, 10.5 in 2007, without AH.

Yeah, I know what you're saying, and all I can say is there are times when that might be what he is asked to do. In nickel packages, he probably should play the same 3-technique that he is used to. It's possible they only played him on what they thought were going to be passing downs. That's all great -- and he can get his stats in those situations -- but he has to play selfless at times (i.e.: hold up blockers and let LBs make plays), and I don't think he's willing to do that.

Defense in the NFL today is all about flexibility, and it all starts on the line. We want to be able to play 3 and 4 men down, move guys from DE to LB, DT to NT and whatnot. Haynesworth represents a major impediment to making that possible because he is stubborn and inflexible.

Last year Rak had his best sack day against Oakland, when AH did not play.

I have trouble with this "stat" b/c he didnt play in 4 games last year. I wouldnt have as much of a problem with it if Haynesworth had played full seasons in the past but he hasnt. He is a lock to miss 2-6 games a year every year. 2 to 6 full complete games where he doesnt take one snap has to be considered in the discussion of "what does haynesworth bring to the table?".

Titans fans warned us about this when we signed him. That he would miss around 4 games and only play hard when he wants to.

To be fair though, JaMarcus Russell did play half the game. And he's so bad you almost got two sacks on him...and you weren't even in the same state

Clinton Portis declines to comment, with help from Albert Haynesworth

Clinton Portis and Albert Haynesworth performed a scripted skit for reporters in the locker room Thursday afternoon in which Portis declined to answer questions and Haynesworth covered the running back's mouth with strips of black athletic tape.

A Redskins media relations official informed reporters that Portis, who, in a prepared statement, apologized for inappropriate comments he made about female reporters earlier this week, was ready for his scheduled weekly media availability.

When reporters approached Portis at his dressing stall, however, he initially did not speak. When a reporter asked Portis about his ill-advised comments during the radio interview, he held up a spiral notebook with "No Comment" written on one of the pages while Haynesworth, standing to Portis's left, tore a piece of tape and applied it to Portis's lips.

When a reporter asked about Sunday's game against the Houston Texans, Portis turned the page and held up the notebook again: "Thanks For Coming." Haynesworth applied another piece of black tape.

As reporters continued in vain to engage Portis, up went the notebook twice more with: "God Bless You" and "Have A Good Day." Haynesworth did his part with more tape, and then the players left the locker room together.

Redskins officials probably would prefer that Portis's lips remained perpetually sealed. He occasionally has inserted his foot into his mouth during interviews -- though not to the extent of his misstep this week -- or has stirred controversy by ripping former head coach Jim Zorn and quarterback Jason Campbell.

But this was Portis's first opportunity to explain himself after making comments that, at the very least, displayed some insensitivity on the subject of female reporters. It does raise questions about how sincere Portis's apology was. Perhaps the Portis-Haynesworth two-man act should go on the road. It didn't play well in Ashburn.
